Re: 1/72 Beginners entry Trumpeter Sea Fury FB11

She's coming along quite well, since the last update all control surfaces are on, cockpit is complete, and I am getting there with the wing centre section - all in all it won't be long until the Fury's looking like this... http://www.flickr.com/photos/stevipedia/4098798623/" onclick="window.open(thi...

Re: 1/72 Beginners entry Trumpeter Sea Fury FB11

In between filling and primer-spraying a friend's badly built Jag http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/joethefuturepilot/IMG_0114-1.jpg I've cracked on with the Sea Fury, gubbinsing up the internals before attaching the fuse together, however a nice seam is requiring me to fill and file a lot and...

Re: 1/72 Beginners entry Trumpeter Sea Fury FB11

Yep, thats my target for the next update. Thanks for the compliments re the cockpit, I painted it in matt black then covered it in a thin layer of white, then rubbed the white off and it had a very nice weathered look.
I hope that the finished model has similar feedback!

RIAT 2010 Press Day

The RIAT Facebook page reports that the press day is being planned for Wednesday 9th June 2010. I just thought you'd like to know, as I recall a few members of the board went down to the fence for this last year.

Showing the assembled cockpit (which I'm very proud of the worn finish on) and the fuselage just before assembly. I had to put a tiny piece of perspex in that hole on the left hand side as well...

Re: 1/72 Beginners entry Trumpeter Sea Fury FB11

Have now got all the gubbins inside the fuselage and have attached it together, although there's a huge seam down the middle, so it looks like there's a lot of filling ahead of me! I will try and get some pictures up soon. :)

Thank you!
So far I've painted and weathered the cockpit module and painted the fuselage internals. Hopefully there'll be some pics soon

1/72 Beginners entry Trumpeter Sea Fury FB11

I started this lovely aircraft earlier today. For some reason, the sprue shot has disappeared and I haven't yet taken any pictures of the work I've done. However I do have a picture of the nice box artwork http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s183/joethefuturepilot/IMG_0103.jpg Hopefully there'll be a...

Got the 1/72 BBMF (PA474, P7350 & PZ865) kit, does anyone know of any issues with the kit?

Re: Fighter control model building competition

I'll certainly have a go at the 1/72 beginners category. Not sure yet what kit, although I think I'll probably go for something pre-1960...
