Hi all,
Did anyone read off the grey Sea King outside the hangars at Gosport on / around 15/11/2022? This was the week the carrier was moored in the Solent.

Re: Military Aircraft Markings 2023

Thanks for the comments so far, all very useful. As regards what is, or isn't, included, I know that's always been a difficult subject, but it's worth considering. Also, the point regarding serial presentation is noted, I'm happy to take a look at it.

Do you require update regarding museum based aircraft?
Hi Howard,

Yes, very much so please! The more detail the better as far as I am concerned.

Military Aircraft Markings 2023

Good afternoon all, As I am sure many of you are aware, the future of "MAM" was cast into doubt for 2023 and beyond after Howard Curtis announced he was stepping down as editor of the book, after a 40-year involvement in one form or another. Today I am very happy to announce that I have taken on thi...

Re: REQ - 25 OCT. LAKEY / MILDY

Looking at the daily movements thread, it looks like 6 F-35s launched around 11.30, as follows; "Axe 01" - 19-5485 "Too ??" - 20-5574 "Horn 01" - 19-5475 "Too ??" - 19-5484 "Tree ??" - 19-5486 "Horn 02" - 19-5476 You already mentioned 5484/5486, so it looks like these were your other 4. Unfortunatel...

Great set of photos.
Retro 62 refuelling cover appears to be closed in the first two photos and open in the last two?
2 different aircraft, 026 in the first 2 shots, 027 in the second 2.

It says 2 months from 18 Aug for those that can't be bothered to open the link
Long enough for some airframe swaps? Having made 0/4 initially, that would be nice, although I doubt it!

Re: How many USAF C-135s have you seen?

Just found this! My tally is a not-too-bad 608 C-135 airframes (not including the 2 C-137s, which were a different airframe as I understand it?). By far the vast majority of these (probably around 500) were seen at RAF Mildenhall, dating back as far as February 1986, with a few at other UK bases, ai...

Serials required for Southern France April 2004

Afternoon all, As per the header, I was heading South towards Mallemort in Southern France for a family holiday. Enroute in either direction there were some stops made! At Valence AB on 08/04/04 I logged SA.341F coded BSF, which I believe should have been (4032), along with the preserved example (16...

RAF Mildenhall 25 Feb 1998

Morning, Whilst looking for something else entirely, I noticed that I had logged a KC-135R at Mildenhall on the above date as 60-0352, with a Grand Forks fin flash and a yellow band (so presumably 319ARW?) That serial is clearly wrong since 352 was written off in 1962! Any offers for the correct ser...

Not being presumptuous here the KAF Eurofighter Typhoon CSX55274 c/n KT006 according to a database CSX55274 doesn't tally up but with a check other ID shows CXS55248 same aircraft different reg code so which is correct the one it's carrying at the Tattoo or the database not going to cause any argum...

Re: RIAT 2022 Participants

As far as I am aware it used to be 94/F-RAXG with the French Air Force, it then transferred to ALAT around January 2007 and became 94/F-MABZ, it has now reverted back to French Air Force and is now 94/F-RAXG again. That makes sense because the current code allocations for the EAAT unit (French Army...

Re: Back to the 70's Usaf TDY'S to RAF Station's

With the latest remarks by the US President I would if there will be TDY like in the past to RAF Station's like Waddington. Like the 48 ANG A7's but with F16's I think the biggest A-7 deployment to Waddington was 36 aircraft. That's correct - `Coronet Buffalo`- Waddington May - June'85. 24 from Iow...

Re: Juno Tail numbers. Question.

Pete,

There are actually 7 Jupiters, ZM496-502. All are nominally based at Shawbury, but generally there are 3 or 4 at Valley at any one time, and possibly one on maintenance at Oxford. 497 and 498 have been active at Valley recently on ADSB.
