Re: 48FW F-35A delivery summary (26 as at 13/04/2023)

I think this is where we are currently at, unless anyone thinks differently? 493rd FS - 19-5493/20-5594/20-5595/20-5596/20-5598/20-5599, plus 20-5613 at Fort Worth 495th FS - 19-5473/19-5474/19-5475/19-5476/19-5484/19-5485/19-5486/19-5495/20-5570/20-5571/20-5572/20-5573/20-5574/20-5580/20-5581/20-55...

Re: Air Defender 2023

How are Jagel and Hohn for spotting? Usually very good. But for this exercise it seems some camps are build outside of the bases to house the participants. That might influence spotting conditions. At Hohn both approaches are accessible, and on the south side there are multiple locations on which a...

Re: Military Aircraft Markings 2023

I’m honoured to have one of my shots of the RAF P-8A Poseidon as this years front cover, Thanks! Well done, unfortunately I can take NO credit for that, because I was working to such tight timescales this time I was unable to provide much in the way of photos, Howard provided most of the content as...

Hi, Can anyone please help confirm that C-40A Clipper seen passing over Grantham this morning at 11.45 AM heading in a northerly direction is 165831 as noted by Flightradar24. Could anyone also confirm current operating unit and any code if carried. Many thanks Everett1285 Hi, I'm not aware of any ...

Re: 48FW F-35A delivery summary (21 as at 10/11/2022)

5600 has also been spotted with an LN tail and a 495th making on the side of the intake. So only 23 jets in total for the 495th, not 24? Don't know yet, these are the numbers from the factory, could still one being built yet. Got it - I was always under the impression that there were 54 planned for...

Marham Families Day 2nd August 2001

Good evening all, Doing some tidying up of old logbooks, and I stumbled across this - As per the header, I was able to get access to the Marham Families Day on the above date, but the log I have is patchy to say the least. I seem to recall being rushed round by my guide who needed to leave, so didn'...

USS Harry S. Truman, Stokes Bay, Portsmouth, 06/05/2003

Good afternoon, Whilst going through some old carrier logs and having a bit of a database tidy-up, I got to the visit from the Truman in May 2003. Mostly self-explanatory, until I got to the Prowlers of VAQ-130! The Hampshire Airfields site and GoNavy.jp both seem to agree that the following EA-6B's...

Brilliant Tim, Brings back great memories of both that show and the previous one in 1990, which I've just dug out the log for, and recalled that I also visited my first US carrier on the same day, the Eisenhower in Stokes Bay! Thanks for posting! Went to the 90 one as well, couldn't believe I was w...

Re: Air Defender 2023

It looks like it's following a similar pattern to the old "Reforger/Able Archer/Autumn Forge deployments, interconnected deployments where large numbers of aircraft and troops were deployed to the front line. Clearly it's taken on a renewed importance given the current Ukranian events, and it's got ...

Plus a gap between 20-5595 and 20-5598, so there's another 2 I guess. Not necessarily for LN admittedly! By this time next year we'll probably have 40+ of the little blighters :D I've not seen any unit allocation for 5596 and 5597 yet, but a few of this latest batch (5591/2/3) have gone to the 6th ...

Re: Military Aircraft Markings 2023

Thanks for the comments so far, all very useful. As regards what is, or isn't, included, I know that's always been a difficult subject, but it's worth considering. Also, the point regarding serial presentation is noted, I'm happy to take a look at it.
