Does anyone know if the above is a true reflection of a KC46s capability? It seems fairly wasteful to use two tankers to bring 2x F35s each across the med to the heath!
KB
Might also be a training op for new KC-46 crews possibly?

Re: Turkey to buy 48 Eurofighter Typhoon

Aren't Turkey developing their own next gen fighter after being thrown out of the F-35 program?

Looking at the list of Turkish AF kit it shows 243 active F-16s and 48 active F-4s so even personally being sceptical about this story being true it could be a straight swap for the F-4s.

STOP PRESS Rumour the Dutch have cancelled
Given 322 are due to head out for Baltic Policing very shortly it's probably enough to keep them busy without coming to LN so that's understandable.

I'd imagine that the first one will be the TLP exercise in Albacete which runs from Feb 20th to March 3rd. Would possibly be around 18 jets that would go for that.
I think Apache means detachments into LN like when AV F-16s head here for example.

The MO's are the current sandpit Eagles aren't they? So I presume something will go when their turn ends but ...

Does anyone know if the old gate guard, ZA407, is still on base and if it can bee seen from the outside anywhere?

Many thanks
It was moved to the old 9 & 31 SQN HAS compounds.

Used to be able to see it through the trees down Chalk Lane but I think it's been moved.

With 63-7999 now retired, has anything replaced it in the based fleet?

Martin
I remember seeing a new based one back when the Alaskas were on TDY at the Hall, it still had some old AMC markings but I'm pretty sure it was for the 100th.

So is that no F15Cs with active duty squadrons now?
They're still active in Kadena for the moment, just starting to remove some of them.

US Forces just announced the first several F-15s from the 18th FW will depart Kadena on 1st Dec 2022 as part of the phased withdrawal. The jets will fly to Kingsley ANG base and from there some will be sent to other CONUS ANG Bases and the rest to 309th AMARG at Davis Monthan. https://www.kadena.af....

Re: RAF F35 Fleet - 2022 sightings

The RAF spend as much as 60 to 70% of their flying synthetically from speaking with some of the crews recently, that paired with the recent reports of more jets than pilots could help point to the reason why the RAF don't fly as much as the LN 35s do. Also the sim building for the LN birds is still ...
