Re: 6/10/2021 - B-1B arrival thread - this thread only

viewtopic.php?f=441&p=1342926#p1342926

As the thread is locked I can't ask the question there, but as it says the Air Reservation in AR20 is between 03:45 and 04:45 would that indicate an arrival time of around 8-9am at Fairford?

Regards,

Tom

Pigeon Wood - Location Help Request

Afternoon all, A few times I have heard on the scanner crews from Shawbury referring to an area called "Pigeon Wood". This has also been referred to in the media and in council documents as seen here; https://shropshire.gov.uk/committee-services/documents/s21601/Schedule%20of%20Additional%20Letters....

Smashing images, from a few good vantage points. Never managed an Osprey in the air from the times I have visited, will have to come down soon.

Re: F-15 crash 15/6/2020

The internal USAF safety investigation report (SIB) for this incident has been published and is "....rough to read. The board president pulled no punches." Suggestion that it's related to the USAF's poor attitude to safety that've been raised in other recent safety reports. The public AIB report in...

Re: B52 Ops 17-9-20

You've just got to put in the effort and the time to get the reward - thats what being a spotter/enthusiast is all about . Again, if you read the post again I’ve said I understand it’s a bomber deployment, I understand they fly when they have to and not to entertain us (should be obvious really), a...

Re: B52 Ops 17-9-20

You do realise a day at the fence of an operational air base isn’t like an airshow, right? The pandemic has had an effect on this deployment, bringing up challenges never faced before by the crews. Given the current world situation it was never going to run as smoothly as previous deployments, I’m ...

Re: B52 Ops 17-9-20

I only know basics about mission planning, aircraft maintenance and turn around (and little about the effect Covid is having on this deployment) but with 6 airframes here I imagined there would be more flying with more aircraft. I believe it was stated this would be a very active deployment compare...

Re: BTF/ Ample Strike 2020 General Information

Hi, thanks for reply. Will they be here all week w/c 7th ? Or when does the exercise finish ? Thanks Neal It's a subtle change but this is a BTF/bomber task force/deployment rather than an exercise. They come and they go for calendar periods and fly regional stability missions rather than exercise ...
