Re: Possible Tax scam

I have just googled “HMRC communications “. There is a section on www.gov.uk where you can check genuine HMRC e-mail addresses.

Re: Gaydon Air Display in the 1960's

(Just) a little before my airshow days started and great to see. Looks like a Voodoo in the background of the Vulcan; and where is that Spitfire now?

Re: Countdown to Looking Glass

Ken Follett’s book “Never” begins with a minor international disagreement and ends with the (female) president of the USA pressing the big button. In the book she is of sound mind, thoughtful and realises all the ramifications of her actions; things which cannot be said of the next POTUS - whichever...

Re: Will Sunak Survive Until The Election

One nation Toryism is probably closer to New Labour than it is the current right wing cabal. I also think the current Labour executive has a good mix of the metropolitan middle of the road Labour support, the more old fashioned Labour supporters (Angela Raynor and Jess Phillips) and a sound shadow c...

Re: Will Sunak Survive Until The Election

The problem with PR is that we could end up with Ed Davey actually having to make a decision.

Re: Will Sunak Survive Until The Election

The short answer is yes. If it gets to the point where a vote of confidence is held and he loses he will go to the palace and ask KC3 to dissolve parliament. If he wins the election he gives his opponents the middle finger, if he loses he books a private jet to California and gets a mega salary with...

Slow on Saturday, variable on Sunday and ok so far this morning (ipad).
One of the admin said they had had, to quote, “huge” amounts of traffic since the new year and were looking into it.

Re: VAR

Come the end of the season, I can see the need for two league tables - the flawed one which ignores all the mistakes and which will be the official result; then a corrected one which all football fans will know should be the official result.

Re: US and Britain to conduct airstrikes

According to the papers, Lord Cameron had a lot of influence in the decision to launch the strikes. The same Cameron who scrapped the Harrier fleet just before he needed it for the anti Ghaddafi campaign and who left Libya as an ungovernable, splintered state which is now a conduit for a multitude o...

Re: US and Britain to conduct airstrikes

In the usual quest for detailed information in this place, I assume we will soon have the serial numbers of the a/c involved, the batch numbers of the bombs and the inside leg 🦵 measurements of the pilots. Mildly surprised that the carrier wasn’t used as that was the whole rationale behind its purch...

UKAR ?

Is UKAR down or has my internet provider just decided it’s an inaccessible site? Not been able to get on it for a couple of days.
Thanks
