Re: Chandler, Az April 1999
Hi, I was at Chandler in 1992 Hard to find then but worth it. Runway is the dirt on which I was standing to take first shot! https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48917208828_9b59386024_c.jpg Chandler by warferry , on Flickr The African Queen was listed as a ex BOAC machine, but keep forgetting my ag...

Re: Chandler, Az April 1999
My visit was '93 Not a lot of those modern turbine-powered things around then! But lots of round-engined items from Douglas! Speaking of which, need to see if I can work out such DC-6 is in the background of one of mine. Has "African Queen" scrawled on the nose.. feels like ought to be easy to iden...

Awesome stuff Al , always love seeing old planes in the desert . According to Flightaware , N118TG is a regular flyer last noted out of Ellington Field in Houston , TX last Friday 11th . I second Punkrunner62 , got any more ? Wow, I'd seen a report of her in one piece somewhere, but hadn't realised...

Chandler, Az April 1999
Been scanning some slides from a trip to the SW USA way back in 1999. Having scanned several boxes of AMARC overflights I was starting to get a little jaded (AMARC overflights are great, but the pictures do get to be a bit samey after a while!). Happily I then stumbled across a few pictures from Cha...

Re: Notam today 18th
Would think so. Turned over Worcester to the NW and towards VYL (Valley - to save any possible confusion) Puzzling why it has been dependent on the fate of the KC-10 at Mildenhall for the return journey, unless it is being met by a tanker from the States. I would assume having got it fixed they wer...

What a fantastic set of pictures! I agree about Leuchars shows always being grey and dull, not sure I ever had the 'shooting into the sun' problem of which you speak :-)

Lovely Gannets! I saw XG888 at Nowra in 2001, sadly the picture doesn't really do her justice:

Re: A couple of heavies from a couple of Air Fetes
Does anyone know if those EC-135Hs were capable of being tankers? I seem to remember they always did a flypast with the boom down, suggesting it was operational in some form.. Yet I'd have thought it was odd for a airborne command post to double as a tanker..

I do like a Tucano, prefer the red/white scheme to the black. Nice to see so many special schemes. Is it a normal scheme for this year's display?

Thanks for putting me right on that. Can offer more Norwegian, Dutch or USAF but not Canadian or Jordanian. As far as I know the '83 Ch.Fenton show was the only time they appeared over here. I do have pics of the single -seater which gave the display but they're b&w. Did they genuinely come all the...
