Re: BBC Points West deployment report
Sadly, not just confined to “spotters/aviation tourists” etc. Worked at LHR for 40+ years and to the last day, you would often see aircraft cleaning crews who upon exiting an aircraft would just throw large bags of mixed rubbish off the jetty onto the tarmac below! Often these would split and the co...

Re: NFL London Flypasts (October 2021)
Having seen many “ USAF flypasts” in the UK over many years, it wouldn’t surprise me if they went over the Emirates Stadium instead😱😱😱 So you are basing your comment on events you recall as far back as 50 years ago, whilst other members have to go back 70 years! P. Never said anything like that!….....

Re: Is this a scam?
Latest scam around here is “Reformed” former prisoners going door to door selling housewares such as sponges/dishcloths etc etc! Everything seems to add up to £10-20 and consequently anyone who agrees to buy items from will more than likely have to leave the front door in order to get the money. As ...

Re: Afghanistan - mission accomplished?
Not a surprise, but I read yesterday that former Afghan President Ghani, fled the country with a reported $169m in cash! According to reports, this money would have funded the Afghan military for several months! No wonder then that morale was non existent amongst the army etc!

Re: Afghanistan - mission accomplished?
Afghanistan has always been a country that couldn’t be “conquered” so to speak! The British tried it in the 1800’s and more recently the Russians, who lost many lives fighting the Mujahideen in the 80’s…..think they were there for 9 or so years! With regard to the Afghan Army/Airforce etc, yes it se...

Sad loss…RIP to those involved. Looks to have been an engine fire, however I always thought in that situation you manoeuvred with the serviceable engine towards the ground?

Re: Kabul - USAF C-17 - 02-1109
Personally, I think that once the “humanitarian airlift” has been completed and all easily removable significant military equipment (helicopters/vehicles/equipment etc) have been removed, then what is left will be destroyed by Special Forces etc! Following on from that, once no military personnel ar...
