Re: USMC FA-18 Rumour

It's a real shame that one person is able to so quickly destroy an information source. It's not our god given right to be told the minutia of every aircraft movement, and we should be - and are - continually grateful to those who are willing to share information. I know it can be annoying sometimes ...

Re: Dawlish Air Day 2014

As I suspect the case was for many, it was my first time at Dawlish this year. Great show, really enjoyable from up on the hill :) We did have one chap come around with a collection bucket up on the hill, but only early in the morning and I didn't see anyone else later on (although I could easily ha...

To clear up any lingering confusion, RAF Waddington have said in a press briefing that there will be NO FLYPAST at Waddington itself.

Nope, strangely not! I saw most come over my house, but I only really headed over in the evenings to see if there was any SOG flying.

RAF Mildenhall 27th July - 3rd August 2014

Hi all, These are from a few quick trips down to Mildenhall over the last week - evenings in the hope of catching the CV-22s and weekends for the C-5s that have been about over the last week. 1. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5564/14734997236_58ce5bf235_o.jpg Lockheed C-5B Galaxy 87-0033 - 439th Air...

I'm a big fan of your editing style here Jonathan - a really decent set! It's actually the three shot composite of SoloTurk that stands out for me :)

Re: Wanted: Italeri 1/72 V-22 Osprey

James,

Yeah unfortunately the 1/48th is too large. We've got to build our transport system as well as the aircraft, so 1/72 gives a reasonable overall base size.

We've also had the rather complex rotor design 3D printed at 1/72, so stuck with that now!

Dave - thanks, I'll look into that.

Wanted: Italeri 1/72 V-22 Osprey

Hi guys, I'm looking for the above Osprey kit which seems to be out of production now? As part of our final year design project, we have to build a model of an aircraft we've designed this year. Ours is a tiltrotor with a few areas of similarity to the Osprey, so we need a donor kit for parts (and d...

Given the subjects, I'm surprised people can't look past the watermarks (okay, they are quite intrusive - but I'd rather have them there than not see the post). Have you got any more of the P-1 or US-2 Stu - really like both of those aircraft!

Modular Tilt Rotor Design - Twitter Feed

Hi chaps, As part of our Aeronautical Engineering MEng design project requirements, we have to perform some public engagement/enterprise to get people interested in our design work. The very first stage of this is a twitter page to put out periodic design details and updates on our project. If anyon...

Re: RAF Mildenhall - January 28th 2014

Thanks very much all! :)

The second shot was just after a large band of cloud swept in (very quickly - between two circuits from the Osprey!) and obscured the sun, with only a small bit left illuminating the clouds in the image.
