£2! Add a zero to that now, nearly! Very nice shots. Love the Hardy prog covers from the 80's and 90's.

Still some work to do yet. Announcements will be made in due course via the Museum website/Facebook page. It is intended that it will be available for fast taxi runs and photo shoots. Anybody got an AN/ALQ-101 pod? We have all the pylons, tanks and a Phimat.
For this Cosford could be worth a call?

FC'ers regularly use the term DBH when talking about RIAT related air ops info on here. Can someone tell me what it stands for please?

Re: What aircraft would you like to see at RIAT 2019

Yep the Tornado Role Demo was my favourite air show display of all time. You just cant beat a fully swept, ultra low, fast and burning Tornado GR4 (especially if you can get some dark sky in to boot). I was lucky to see it a few times but specifically will never forget time I went and stood on the b...

Re: What aircraft would you like to see at RIAT 2019

Just out of interest doesn't an F-15 do pretty much the same kind of display no matter what country it's from? There hasn't been an F-15 display in this country as long as I've been in this hobby and that's a while and I can only recall USAF ones being at UK shows in the odd fly past, no one elses ...

Re: Red Top Lightning

Very nice. Is that the Airfix 1:48 scale kit? If so did you have issues fitting the undercarriage doors in the up position? Total pig on my kit and clearly not meant to be installed closed. Had to pad out with tissue as the doors have nothing to rest against when gluing shut.. not to mention they ju...

Re: Tucano ; the end is neigh !

Is it the Tucano that the pilots don't like because of a large resonance or vibration received through the airframe at certain times?

Re: Holiday Idea's . . . . .

As Thunder says, be very careful in Greece especially. A friend and I were held by civilian police and air force authorities outside an air base in Greece simply for sitting near the approach to watch landing NATO aircraft on exercise. All of the camera equipment was purposely bagged up and locked i...

Re: An-225

In relation to it landing at the 'wrong' end. I know there were taxi way considerations, but wether or not that was the case, I'm sure a car parks worth of moronically parked cars on the verges and hanging out in the road, between the warning lights and under the flight path, didn't help the case ei...

August 2018

Landivisiau is closed for one month at present. Not sure when the start date of the closure was but as of today, 8.8.18, gate security personnel said it is closed "for one month". No movements at all and no access to gate guard aircraft. Just in case anybody is thinking of visiting at the moment for...

Re: What is your top 3 aircraft of all time

I like this. Not silly at all and nice to have a break from the seriousness:

1. Tornado GR1B (toting ant-ship missiles)
2. F-111E (in UH splendour)
3. F-14A
3b. MiG-31BM Foxhound

Sorry, I was struggling with just 3 ;)

It didn't make a difference when Swinley Forest near Windsor went up in 2011 that's posher than Hampstead and Epping put together. I can assure you everything was done by FRS and Gov agency staff to deal with Crowthorne (Swinley) forest fire as quickly as possible. I was there and working in it as ...

Re: British Phantom Aviation Group (Official Topic)

I'd just like to say thanks to the volunteers at BPAG for their time at Cosford. One person, an ex-nav, took the time to thoroughly show my 6 year old son and I around the back seat of XV490.. and was patient enough to answer all of his 1001 questions! I learned a huge amount in 20 mins and it was v...

Re: RAF Cosford Airshow 2018, Sunday 10th June

Is anyone aware and can say what type of appearance we are going to have from the GR4's? Two are due into Shawbury so, and I would think its highly unlikely, but are we maybe going to get a role demo!? Here's praying. Or maybe just a single flypast with a spare backup.. Anyone in the know able to sh...

Re: RAF Cosford Airshow 2018, Sunday 10th June

Just been online to purchase 2x adult and 3x children tickets to Cosford but unfortunately just sold out it seems. If anyone has tickets but cant go I would pay face value for them as soon as possible (the childrens ones are under 16, free, but still had to be booked for numbers reasons). Thanks all...
