'...incredible moment a B-52 lands...'. Yep, incredible, as planes aren't built to land as well as fly!? Good pictures though.

Re: C17s to Fairford

This one's a warning to Putin so I've heard from involved personnel. Aren't they all though I suppose, although still get the feeling this one is something bigger than usual, but is it a different type of deployment? Only time will tell...

Re: Giant 8692 Friday.

Just to clarify you saw a US registered flatbed lorry and US police? When ammunition was moved from Welford to Fairford in the Balkan crisis it was British registered articulated container lorries with British police escorts. Would have thought it strange to have US police on British roads in this c...

I would have thought it would have at least been manslaughter?

Re: A few from the forgotten F3 Fin

Not forgotten on me. The F3 may have been an underdog in the fighter dept dynamically, but who doesn't love an underdog, or one that performed an airshow routine like it did. Always remember it finishing some of its RIAT displays with a very high speed pass followed by a vertical climb into the heav...

Re: India v Pakistan

On BBC website earlier it was saying that IAF jets flew 3-4 miles inside the Line of Control presumably to undertake a raid, got jumped by PAF jets, jettisoned their loads over open ground, and Foxtrot Oscar'd. Who knows what actually happened..

Re: Exercise at Marham 22nd & 26th February 2019

I'm watching this closely and will be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. If it happens again on the 26th I'll be making the near 8 hour round trip again as will be worth every mile to see my favourite air show display possibly take place one final time, when we never thought it would perhaps?...

Tornado17, can you confirm this NOTAM is officially for a role demonstration tomorrow and Tuesday? It's a long way to travel back after being there on Tuesday, but I would go again for that in a heartbeat..

Re: Tornado farewell flypast February 2019

They will likely stay in 9 formation and flyover when returning to Marham before breaking to land so if you were coming all the way from Italy I would suggest going to Marham to watch them hopefully fly over after Cranwell and then recover. As a previous poster said if you park in the farmer's field...

Re: AMARC scans from 2001

Great shots and great light. It looks hot! Although being the desert it could be -3oC and still look the same.

Are there still (in 2019) complete F-14's and F-111's there does anybody know?

Re: June 1995, CC F-111s and LA B-52s visit Fairford

Being a local and an F-111 lover these shots are brilliant. Haven't seen a decent set on that deployment like this yet and good to get lots of background in as well. There is a CC F-111 framed photo on the wall by the bar in the Marlborough Arms pub in town (amongst other deployed aircraft pictures)...

Re: Falklands Fox Two

Very good scene set there. Do love the Sea Harrier, especially when firing a 'winder. Never quite looked as mean in FRS2 form without the sharp pointed nose and high pitot tube!

Top effort. Reminds me of the 1:48 Airfix kit made in the early 90's that won me an Air Cadet Wing modelling competition.

Re: Marham 23 Jan 19 - Marham 'Special' day

I think the camo scheme looks great. They couldn't have had it in a single squadron finish because that would have been too bias given that it served with many squadrons. It's a Tornado GR, in full camouflage, in 2019.. what's not to like!

Re: NOTAM 10 January 2019

Looking at the lack of Friday NOTAMs I think the U-2 crews are pulling the old 'fly into the Cotswolds midweek and go tech ready for a weekend stay' chestnut ;)
