Re: Damage to fence near CG1

In the 1960s at Kidlington some idiots cut the canvas carrying military serials from rear fuselages of Auster AOP a/c being converted to civil use. Sheer stupidity and lack of respect.

Re: Notam 20-09-18

There has been talk of a C-17 arriving before breakfast - possibly 96-0004, which went to Dublin. Weather diversion or was it planned?

Re: Upgraded Shadow R1A ZZ419 Hawarden 18.9.18

Well caught, nice photo.
The most obvious external mod that I can see is the new fairing above the tailplane, but maybe there are others? Doubtless there are changes to the 'naughty' equipment carried internally!

Is that photo from a 35mm slide or a print? If the former, then I must construct my own "home made device"!

B-52H markings query

A couple of questions that I wonder if someone could help me with:- (a) Is there a photo of the nose art on 61-0015 available anywhere? (b) What is the shield below "AFRC" on fin of 60-057? My photos (taken in poor light) have left me unable to decide whether it is the Air Force Global Strike Comman...

As a member I can access that topic, but guests can't access it. So I thought it would be helpful for casual visitors to have it under Fairford . . . .

Re: Where is ZZ176 ?

To/from Australia the long way round via the US as RRR6400/01. Is that the same route as taken by Voyager KC3 ZZ333 - as recorded for 21 August 2018 on the bzzspotters.blogspot.com web site? ZZ333 seems to have departed as RRR2782 on 14th August 2018 and arrived back as RRR2783 on the 21st. Cheers,...

According to the
bzzspotters.blogspot.com
web site it landed at Brize Borton very early (00:50) this morning (Saturday 1 September). No idea where it has been unfortunately.

Lovely set and thanks for posting.
Question: it looks as though the flight-deck crew wear helmets. Am I right?
Yes, it is SOP - I certainly wouldn't like to eject without one.
Cheers, TM74

PS. SOP = Standard Operating Procedure, or something like that.

Re: TORNADO F.2 ZA267

Rumour is that ZA267 departed RAF Marham by road during the last week or two, and may have gone via RAF Shawbury and/or RAF Syerston to a museum. Additional info and comments welcome!

Also, has the Hunter been removed?

Probably runway 25 (ie departing from east to west), but likely to be rather a cross-wind so no guarantee.
