Just captured the photos of the silver sea fury has crashed near Duxford after a reported engine failure. Pilot is ok, but aircraft doesn't look great.

Blinding set of images. The first chinook image is the best of the set for me.

On the west end I would drive up ford lane which is slightly South of the airfield ( see Google maps,)

The 2 points to the southeast of runway 28 are no longer accessible and have no place to park the car. The farmer has made sure of that.

You'll be lucky to get anywhere near the place now. Farmers have been all entry to fields around the airfield.

I'm not being funny but the finances raised by the leasing alone would be more than enough to cover the costs of a new hangar to be erected on Mr Waltons land not to mention the lease hold to maintain said hangar and aircraft. If it was just a case of planning permission, that could happen pretty qu...
