Re: Coningsby 23.06.20

Nice set. Thanks for posting. :thumb: I can understand the significance of the 12 Sqn fin badge, but a full colour fox head, alone, would be so much better. Agreed. Not a big fan of the shield type markings they seem so keen on. Don’t want to complain though- still so much better than a plain grey ...

Coningsby 23.06.20

Hi all, Headed over to Coningsby for a couple of hours this afternoon with the sole intention of getting a decent pic of one of the newly marked up 12sq Typhoons. Managed to bag one in good light, which was pleasing- Spit and Hurri were a nice bonus whilst waiting. The MTO scheme on the Spit actuall...

Has anything actually used Donna yet this week? Haven't seen anything at all- just wondering if it's worth a drive.

Always liked a XII myself, classic shape with a beast of an engine upfront. Maybe heresy for some, but also partial to a clipped wing...

MOre Eagles from the (Middle) East 27.05.20

Hi all, Slogen has made an excellent job of covering the nose art, so just a few from me, hopefully worth a look. Tad over exposed and such, but in my defence I haven't had much practice recently... https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49944511341_7dec9daebf_b.jpg IMG_4517 by Richard Taylor , on Flic...

RAF Mustang I - Lockdown Project 6

Hi all, Next in the increasingly lengthy line of lockdown builds- Italeri's Mustang I in 1:72 with II(AC) Sqn markings from an Xtradecals sheet. Nice to build something where everything, by and large, kinda fitted together! Went together pretty quick and looks alright by my standards. The next one m...

RAF Boston 'Beer is Best' Lockdown(?) Project 5.

Hi All Lockdown continues (in a fashion) and so does the 1/72 production line. Another US built type in RAF roundels. This time 88sqn RAF Douglas Boston, it's the Special Hobby Kit. Looked corking in the box, but assembly was challenging. The clear parts in particular- if I was told they were intend...

SAAF B-26 Marauder- Lockdown Project 4

Hi all Lockdown continues, as does my inhalation of fumes and particles from poly cement, paint, thinners and plastic. Particularly with this little blighter- as a kit this was a very different proposition to the Tamiya I built last, and the modern Airfix offerings before that. This is the 1/72 Airf...

RAF Thunderbolt- Lockdown Project 3

Hi All, Latest little anticipated installment in my ongoing lockdown project; rediscovering modelling, teaching myself airbrushing and staying occupied. Another US built aircraft with RAF roundels- Republic P-47D of an Operational Training Unit in Egypt, preparing pilots for action in the ETO. Tamiy...
