Re: RAF Coningsby 01/02/2018

Thanks guys! Was a nightmare trying to shoot in 30kt gusts, so quite pleased with the outcome of these. 300 odd photos taken and only 50 odd were worth keeping, especially of the Prefects, trying to hold the big lens steady in that wind with a low shutter speed for the prop blur was darn frustrating...

Re: RAF Coningsby 01/02/2018

Hi Vulcanone - yes I did some google research this evening, it shot down an Su-22 with an AIM-9 on 22 March 1991. Scary thing is that was three months before I was born !?!?

RAF Coningsby 01/02/2018

Hi All, Spent the day (before the weather turned) at Coningsby, fair amount going on, couple of visitors and a performance departure! Can't ask for much more than that! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4661/28249600689_0558d4eb4e_b.jpg BAe Systems Hawk T1A - 100Sqn by Chris Howe , on Flickr https://fa...

Awesome pictures! I've always said I was born in the wrong era - 91 is the year I was born, I love Phantoms and Lightnings and have never seen any fly, gutted!

Awesome set! Where were these shot from? From the angle I'm guessing it wasn't the spotters car park?

Re: Departures 19/01/2018

Thanks guys! The last one is a bit tight for me too! Mostly because the original was very poorly shot the nose edge isn't cropped in, that's where it shot and it was the best one I had of that particular airframe! Was very lucky with the weather yesterday, was darn freezing but beautifully c...

Have you ever seen the movie Stealth? Awful film, but I feel like we're moving steadily towards the same worrying storyline lol

Cheers guys! The underside shot was the result of a superb run and break by the C-17 crew. Never fails to amaze me how manoeuvrable it is!

Takes me a 3hour drive to get there but I've promised myself this year I'm going to get up there as often as possible. Already planning another trip up on 1st Feb - weather dependant though... not looking so great on the long range forecast at the mo!
