Questions on the F35

Hi have a couple of questions i wondered if someone could help me with. 1 - Watching last nights one show about he F35, it was said that 25% of the production of the aircraft was done in the UK - and i understand that we are the only level 1 partner - is that only on the B variant, or are we partner...

Re: Wattisham Station Heritage & XT914 July 2018

i remember seeing that tiger phantom as a young kid being broken up in a scrap yard in stock, my dad took me there and there was loads of phantoms, the tiger one looked as if it had been picked up and just thrown nose first into the whole pile, such a shame how this country treats its old birds, wis...

Re: Spitfire VS Tucano

I was just purely wondering, if you don't care or don't see the point in the question then don't read it lol, no one is forcing you :S Just intrigued to know how a modern designed fast prob with modern avionics and engineering would have feared against the spit, thanks for some of the answers guys, s...

Spitfire VS Tucano

Hi Just wondering, how would a later MK Spitfire fair against a modern RAF Tucano in a mock dog fight? Forgetting about weapons because i think the RAF versions have none, but in terms of getting in the best position to theoretically use just guns, would they even be a match for each other or are th...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

In 20 years time, you lot will be going to RIAT, and there won’t be a flying display, it’s not that I’m ungrateful at all you melt, I’m just a enthusiast! Air shows are dying and are a shadow of what they used to be and I don’t like the way it’s going!!! That’s all! Sorry standing there looking at a...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

Any way, what hope have we got with the US putting up more when our own service is just as bad, no tornado flying??? Ha ha baring in mind they go out of service in April, and is one of the RAF’s longest and best used asset in the 100 years it’s been formed (and don’t say they don’t have any spare ai...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

So many people on here giving it well the US have loads in the static!!!! Jesus it’s a air show!!! Means they are meant to fly, why are people so excited about static? More people with that attitude it will kill off flying displays! The US are crap now over here, you would think with all the bases t...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

Yeah I see your point, obviously there is a change in attitude from higher powers and it’s a shame as it’s the tax payers who paid for them and we not even seeing them at air shows? For me if you like static, then go to a museum, they are open all round, air shows are about flying and it’s one weeke...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

Look I’m still looking forward to it I am, but I’m just noticing how airshows are going here, people getting really excited about seeing a plane parked up,,,if they think everyone is really happy about that, then more they will do it and the less pressure there will be on putting on a varied flying ...

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2018 Discussion Thread

Really hope there are more types of fast jet display announcements for riat, yes I’m happy there is a f16, a f18 and typhoons, but do we really need to see 4 of each, all we have to really look forward to other than the usuals is the mig 21 (which I’m very glad about) but I’m really hoping to see a ...

Re: Performance take offs

Would they ever use re-heaton night flying ops? Just i went last Tuesday to Coningsby and i didn't see one re-heat take off which i was gutted about ( they sound so so much better and louder), The F15s at lakenheath use them most of the time and definitely on night ops as i have seen it, i guess it ...
