Re: Has anyone else heard this story and is it true or even possible?

In slightly similar vein,a pal of mine ,who served in HMS Illustrious during the Kosovan conflict ,related a story to me of an incident when the Lusty picked up a unidentified air radar contact ,and ask the US command if they had anything approaching the ship, the answer was negative. They repeated t...

Has anyone else heard this story and is it true or even possible?

Hi has anyone ever heard the story of the RAF telling the US government they could penetrate their air defense without them knowing, and subsequently doing it? I was told the story years ago at an airshow and want to know if anyone could actually back it up? I seem to remember the aircraft being a V...

Re: Tornado/F35/Typhoon

okay so basically we are not losing any ability at all by the tornado going into retirement. I remember too the tornado held those two big canisters under it belly to fly along runways and drop bomblets to completely destroy a runway, is that totally redundant now then? i guess with cruise missiles ...

Tornado/F35/Typhoon

hi, Been reading a few articles on the web and people are saying with the Tornado about to retire, the RAF will lose some abilities in low level bombing. Just wanted to ask if that is true? I've seen typhoons go through the loop just as low as a tornado and the F35 more recently but can they go as f...

Re: Marham 23 Jan 19 - Marham 'Special' day

Great photos! Was a fantastic day, so glad I made the long trip! Loved seeing the Tornados, epic, but I got to say, the way those typhoons took off stole the show for me, absolutely amazing! Can only imagine that’s what the Lightning’s would have been like! They couldn’t have got airborne any quicke...

Re: Tornado last flights

I have just seen on twitter and Facebook that the station commander said they plan to fly three tornado's on the 22nd of Jan (weather permitting), one in a new camo scheme, it looks brand new! Also should be a final send off in FEB.

Tornado last flights

Hi, have touched on this before but is there any news yet on what the RAF is planning for the Tornado when she retires, is there going to be a fly past or anything at all happening at Marham, I don’t want to miss seeing her fly for the last time, surely surely there will be a last flight, like what ...
