Re: Visitor at BHX 9/1/10

Leuchars

Hi guys Happy New Year to you all, I was reading one of the Waddington threads on here a couple of minutes ago and spotted reference to them having a twitter page thingy, does anyone happen to know if there is a Leuchars Twitter thingy on the go for the Airshow?

Re: Protester at RAF Cosford

I've got to admit that this reminds me of when I was passing Fairford during Allied Force 1999 when the B-1Bs, KC-135s and B-52s were deployed and the size of the camp of Spotting Ruining Protestors (don't get me started) - never saw the B-52s but did see the B-1Bs and KC-135s........

Like your story about racing the Typhoon to Coningsby, I take it you had your scanner on so you knew which one it was and how to ID it? You weren't driving a Bugatti Veyron by any chance?

Re: Lightning at Tattershall - where?

I was there as part of a Bomber County Tour last April (2008) and the Centre is quite interesting full of interesting little Aviation bits and pieces including a large scale white Vulcan in of the buildings - you cannae miss it. Mind you highlight for me was XM192. also do they still have the Harrie...

Re: Christmas TV garbage

I just watched the repeat of Christmas Day's Dr Who but must say, I was disappointed, wasn't as good as I had hoped but when it's been hyped up as much as it had you would expect that wouldn't you. David Tennant will be missed I admit that as I quite enjoyed his performance - How about David Tennant...

Damn shame I didn't finish up at work until the following Monday or I would have probably tried to get up for the final time of 2009. Never mind hopefully after start of 2010 I should be able to think about possible spotting trips (inc) Leuchars (my "local Military" from Edinburgh anyway).........

Which hangar at Duxford is the Eurofighter Typhoon in? Any chance it could eventually be in AirSpace? Must get myself down again to see one of the best collections in The World.

Models may well be.......

Just thinking, might be worth holding on to any models you have because in future they may actually be the Royal Air Force of the Future judging by all these cuts we seem to be having in Defence Spending - especially Tornados, Typhoons, Harriers or Nimrods etc etc etc....

What an idiot

Bob Ainsworth must be as crazy, stupid and mad as Duncan Sandys, while Sandys seemed intent on scrapping all manned fighters like the Lightning and have defence of the UK with Missiles, Ainsworth seems intent to have the RAF equipped with UAVs. Typical Politicians.
