Re: NAS Miramar, PMTC Pt Mugu and MCAS El Toro 1983 Pt 1

Nice images, the USA air show visitors were never the best with their litter though, the shot of the Blue Angels, the aircraft were really close.
About 1995 I visited NAS Miramar and just drove past the guard shack and waved, I don't think that I'd like to do it nowadays. :)

Re: Mojave w&r ramp tour

Great Piccies which are now bringing back great memories. The airfield office had a very nice man who would take you around the airfield in a minivan for a small donation to a local church in Lancaster. I was there when The Phantoms were being converted and also the KC135s were having new cockpit in...

Fantastic selection and quality there, it looks like your Pilot was really helpful.
It is about 15 years since I last flew over the Boneyard, I don't think that I will ever do it again as I am now off the aircraft scene after all the culls, but it is great to be able to view posts like this.

Re: Don Muang Air Base, Thailand (Large Post)

Great images, they have the Pilatus aircraft also at Prachuap Kiri Khan, on the coast about 4 hours south of Bangkok. It is a virtually open base, you even have to cross the main runway to get to the beach, which is open for everyone. Also a very nice hotel on the base as well, lovely sea views, but ...

Once all the blades and excess weight has been removed, what could lift the Helo back to camp Pendleton, another H-53 or Chinook?

Re: PBS AMERICA AIR WARRIORS SKY 534

Yes, next channel to Forces World on Virgin, the other night I saw a good programme SuperCarrier, one I had not seen before, also a Naval Aviation prog, mostly old stuff but some recent with the T-45 Goshawk at NAS Kingsville. FWIW I think that the RAF should buy 24 Goshawks from DM as T2 Hawk repla...

Excellent image that one, it is interesting that the active aircraft such as the A-10s on the last chance ramp, and the F-15s at their 2 o'clock disappear on the final zoom setting.

Absolutely stunning, and brings back the memories as this is something I did several times in the late 90s, not Rainbow Valley though. :) I used to go to the Barry Goldwater ranges at Gila Bend, fantastic there, being so close to the A-10s whilst strafing. So many great images but I did like the VFC-...

The TV news programmes were showing a couple of helicopters looking for survivors, I guess the News programmes have not picked up that the UK now has to use USA aircraft for Marine Patrols.
