Re: Army, Navy, RAF severe c
Not wishing to dismay those "EU devotees" amongst you all,but there are increasing signs that the EU project may be starting to fade somewhat! My son has lived and worked in Hamburg for the past six years and he says that both the business community and the population in general are becoming increas...

Re: Chalgrove Airfield (Houses)
I note that in the planning application, that there is provision made for 3 "gipsy/traveller" sites!......Martin Baker better not leave any hardware out overnight.....could be a few aircraft down the next morning!

Re: RRR622 Voyager ZZ336 (new paint scheme)
Not a bad scheme at all....along with others I think the serial is far too big on fuselage!...as for the Union flag on the doors,I assume that this is done,so that when opened, it appears in shot alongside whoever is exiting the aircraft,be it Boris or Royalty etc!. Overall quite impressive.

Re: RRR607 Voyager ZZ336 (new paint scheme)
TeeJay has it spot on!....Contract with Marshalls/Air Livery would have been signed months ago!. Also both the RAF/MOD would have to look at timescales for taking the aircraft out of service to do this work, similarly Marshalls etc would have to plan it into thier maintenance lines....it's not just a...

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020
BNW...I hope you are correct in your assumptions!. However, is it not possible that the new figure of 25,000 actually includes all the personnel transferred from Mildenhall etc?.

Re: Feeding Fairford
Excuse me for being "thick", but if they are delivering food and supplies,(including palletised water!),from Croughton to Fairford, how does it get to Croughton in the first place?. Article does say that they also collect supplies from Lakenheath,so if that's the case, why doesn't the USAF supply Fair...

Re: 6 Ex RAF Tristars sold to US company
Wake turbulence behind an A380 is quite considerable, hence either on take off or landing there is quite a time gap left for the aircraft that follows one!.

Re: 6 Ex RAF Tristars sold to US company
Unfortunately, "raameagle is probably 100% correct in what he says about the Tristars leaving Brunty in bits on the back of lorries!. Given that they have been left to the elements for the last 6 years, they will need considerable work done, just to get them airworthy!. Having worked on the type at BA...

Re: Why RAF Boscombe Down?
Quieter airfield with fewer based staff than Brize....also a more remote area regarding the press etc being there!. Don't think Porton Down or there staff come into the equation as the virus is basically a " health issue",rather than a chemical/poisoning issue!

Re: Heathrow closure, Friday morning
The Islander,(s), that have been operating out of Northolt have been quite busy of late!. I assume it was one of these that probably had to extend its operation or position in order to complete it's tasking!. Wouldn't have thought a 146,(whoever was on board),would have delayed any traffic into/out ...

Helos all back into Northolt...Cheers to th VH-60s,who came in straight over the house!..,re C-17s thought that last time they picked up the VH-60s,and thier ground equipment,it was then flown out via a gas and go at Mildenhall?

Re: Red Arrows New Base?
Wasn't Boscombe Down in the frame a few years ago?. The movements there are not exactly prolific and the "Reds"could be co-ordinated with base operations fairly easily I would assume!. Also Boscombe's location could afford them the relative airspace required for ops!
