Re: Heathrow closure, Friday morning

The Islander,(s), that have been operating out of Northolt have been quite busy of late!. I assume it was one of these that probably had to extend its operation or position in order to complete it's tasking!. Wouldn't have thought a 146,(whoever was on board),would have delayed any traffic into/out ...

Re: Red Arrows New Base?

Wasn't Boscombe Down in the frame a few years ago?. The movements there are not exactly prolific and the "Reds"could be co-ordinated with base operations fairly easily I would assume!. Also Boscombe's location could afford them the relative airspace required for ops!

Re: Star of Waddington

Regarding my earlier post re 272, I showed a colleague at work who worked on B707s many eons ago and he believes that the "negative pressure port",i spoke of earlier is the ovoid one between the nose gear and the port in question!....think you can make out the area markings and decals in T_J's close...

Re: Star of Waddington

Think the ports are possibly "Negative Pressure" inlet ports....The aircraft was originally built as a passenger aircraft,so differs from the KC135 conversions etc in this regard!.....The red outline around the ports probably has a "do not cover/block this port" decal on or adjacent to it if viewed ...

Re: RAF BAe146 fleet to be sold

A.319s were muted some time ago....think a fleet of 5 were mentioned?. However I believe both Boeing and Embraer are developing "mix-mode" models of thier aircraft! What I sincerely hope is that the demise of the 146,(whenever it happens), does not also signal the demise of both 32sqn and Northolt a...

Re: F16 Demo Team breaks another jet!

Anyone who has ever worked on aircraft, both military or civil, would have experience of panel loss/delamination events!....Majority of panel losses occur due to poor ground operations or maintenance....on civil aircraft the majority of panels lost are from servicing access panels used in turnrounds e...
