Re: Lakenheath 8/10

I read 87-0183 87-0209 87-0201 88-1667 & 88-1705 marked 389FS this morning. These are from left to right as looking from the lane. I found it best to walk right out of the lane ie north and round the verge. They all become visible and readable eventually. The 5 can also be seen from the Warren. Slo...

Re: Lakenheath 8/10

Just seen on the SMAS site that 201 is there (plus 1667) Dropped the lot of course They are parked by the A1065. Heading south pull into the little lane after the bend on the A1065. Walk a little further south about 200m and you will see them. If you walk up the bank there are some pine trees that h...

Lakenheath 8/10

Anyone have any luck with the MO serials?

From the A1065 I could read tails:
209
183
1705 "389FS"
Plus 201 which now I am home may have been a LN

No canopies up etc

Re: Fence hanging at UH

Nice to see shots from Heyford. I have fond memories of parking up in the lane after the railway bridge , seems a long time ago. Seeing swingers taxying down both sides of the runway and shaking the car as the afterburners were lit up. I recall they often went north on track to Flamborough head. I g...

Re: Viewing F-35?

I haven't seen the photos but to get shots of aircraft exiting the 617sqn complex you have to be looking from the track running down to the fence from the Grain silos , known locally as the 'silos' which are north of the 06 holding point; you can see the silos from the hill at the 24 departure end. ...

Terrific set again Another nice nose art pic - living near Mildenhall I have forgotten what an Air Guard tanker looks like ( D-CMET does get about - I have seen it and some other types in a similar scheme in Germany but I can't remember where - they had an airshow a few years back and in static was ...

Well done England. Bit nervous at halftime but comfortable against the argies in the end

Not bad when you can get a pint at 10 am , pub open for all England matches.

I guess to recover from a spin in an F-35 you just select the appropriate menu option on the screen or maybe there is button to instruct the computer to take me home on the help menu.

Oh right

October doesn't sound like the best time of year to visit - must be very short days I would think

It was going to be a bit of a squeeze as I would like to try and get the US army chopper change over later this month , although i haven't made any concrete plans yet!

Cracking photo

I should have a picture of it blasting out of Boscombe Down back in the day - just a bit louder than the hawk and hunter plus you could read it off under the wing I think!
