I wasn't there, but saw footage via the Forum of the sadly now extinct An-224 at Fairford a few years ago- also reminds me of a visit to Bentwaters when I was changing lenses; a WR F-4 spooled up before 'taxiing into position' and blew one of my lenses off a tree-stump.
Happy days.

Well, I've learnt summat there, Mike:- different ball-points in different coloured wrappers. I wish I could find fine-point refills for my Waterman collection of ball-points.

Can't better the comments about Vicker's finest.
Why is it the M.O.D. condemns everything after 25 years service whereas KC-135s, B-52s, CVNs, Tu-95 variants etc just keep rolling on.

Aye, just seen in the UK H.U. section.
I start my trawl of the Forum from the 'members on line'; still working my way up to 'Mess' section.

Light blue; dark blue are moderators. I didn't know what the black ones were Mike- did actually PM an administrator some time ago re. the black ones and light grey 'handles', but didn't rx a reply. TQ Alf. Just looked at that footage (I don't have tv; any movies are at my concession) and from subsequent comments I'd go for a small timed device, but planted by whom- not Puktin, but the person on the ground. Nasty nasty.

Re: Yevgeny Prigozhin Dead ?
As crash-site was in a compact area, judging from pix in this morning's press, I reckon it's doubtful it was shot down by fighters or a sam; if criminality was involved, maybe a small device timed to incapacitate flight controls. Of course there's only been the one picture released as I'm aware- deb...

"Knight 49", 8th August
Also mentioned under the Warton section, "Knight 49"- Shadow R1 ZZ419 was seen orbiting Kendal, round about a five mile radius between 2000L and 2045L at around 9k feet. I had been watching for the last Swifts of the summer (only a couple seen a.m.), got bored by 2045 so turned in. Interesting fligh...

Howdo, C24.
I deliberately omitted population growth from my post above; thought I'd see how long it takes before another member brings it in!

Re: RAF Mildenhall Visitors Guide
I've not been to The Hall since 2001. There used to be a footpath from somewhere near the Willows camping site to under the nee 11 runway and on past the water-towers to the north side. I think it was before 2001 the pathway was closed; also I think Mickey's is within the semi-restricted area of Bec...

Re: EV battery info
Confession: I've not read all of the article as I'd like to think my next (last?) car comes with a set of Weber side-draughts. I must have posted summat about EVs in the past (and to regional papers), but this 2030 idea wasn't thought through. Even this morning on the BBC Today program I think it wa...

25 years ago we knew the homestead on the right of the crashgate as the agricultural scrap-yard; they had Alsatians. Think one of the residents was called Steve. They used to let us use an upended trailer flatbed to shoot over the perifence. Suppose things/residents have changed since then. Roger, S...

35mm slide mounts
I've got 13 boxes (x100s) of Hamafix and two of GEPE slide mounts which I'll not be using now- when it comes to passing on my slides they'll still be in strips in the processors' envelopes.
I'm looking at around £4 a box; I'm in the S. Lake District.
PM to Roger if interested .
Cheers for now.

Last flight up north for the Vulcan XH558 was also N<S, Oct 2015. I got it from Steel Fell with Raise Beck in the background which washed away the A591 two months later; Storm Desmond- kind of a memorable year for me.

Excellent pictures by the way, Richard.
