Hi,

Does anyone know if the Swiss Airforce will be operating the WEF policing out of Meiringen airbase in January?

Cheers Simon

Re: F16 Demo Team breaks another jet!

That panel coming off could of been as simple as the latches on it not being put down correctly. If thats the case then no matter the flight the panel could of come off, i use to work on Tornados and ive heard loads of stories of panels coming off due to them not being fitted or secured correctly, ...

Re: F-35 Lightning on Op SHADER

They are not doing anything that a 40-year old Tornado was not doing before at a fraction of the cost 😜
Hardly a test of a 5th generation fighter. Oh and they are only there for 6 weeks rather than a normal 3-4 month deployment.

One final flight confirmed on Twitter by the station commander for the Tornados The FINal flight of Tornado takes place on Thurs 14 March with a flypast over the Disbandment Parade (early PM). The sortie will take place solely overhead Marham. There are no further sorties planned next week. @RAFMar...

Re: Refuelling the F-35 ,when on the QE ?

As for tanking off the carrier; if it's needed the Voyager (or A N Other coalition tanker can do it). The carriers take the fighters close in because they have a limited range. Modern tankers (well, the Voyager/KC-30 family) have ample range to be deployed well behind and in a far safer environment...

Re: Questions on the F35

Lies, damn lies and statistics The amount of UK participation varies by model and customer. It's most for the B as RR is involved additionally for the lift fan in that model. It's least in the Israeli A model as they have fitted there own counter measure suite rather than the BAe system (this goes a...

Re: Machloop ban

The RAF are gradually removing low level training from the fast jet operations manual. They simply do not believe that it's necessary any more and it's very expensive to do. Once the Tornado goes the RAF presence in all the LFA's will drop significantly. You will still get the C130's, A400M's and ro...

Re: T6-c aircraft at valley

There are still "many" issues to iron out with the T6's from basic survival equipment (the ejector seat harness has already been mentioned but other bits are not up to the required standards to operate around the UK coast) to the fact that they flying sylabous has yet to be agreed and certified, whi...

Re: Canon EF 70 - 200L or EF 100 -400L?

The 100-400MK2 is a complete redesign of the lens and share next to nothing with the original MK1. At 400mm its sharper than my 300/2.8L with a 1.4TC on it and that's saying something. I would get the 100-400mk2 over the 70-200 and cropping any day. Your simply going to put more pixels on target. Gi...

Belgium Airforce Days 2018 - Kleine Brogel (big post)

Took me far longer than intended to process these and its a very large post! The shots are taken over the 3-days of the Belgium Airforce Day at Kleine Brogel airforce base. Its not a bad place for photography in the early morning to early afternoon but after that it becomes a nightmare of sun in you...

Re: Marham Enthusiats Day - 21/06/18

Supprised at just how big the F-35 is when compared to the Torndo, did not think it was of that sort of size, nice shots from restricted event Yes, me too. From the "plastic pigs" that have been around a couple of years (and based on A-Models I think) I would have guessed it was more Harrier size t...
