Re: Korean T50 flying

8x Black Eagles did a recce at Farnborough at around 3pm today (Mon 11/7). Sadly, I only had my 'Mks1s' with me on the school run.

Re: SJ parking

I believe they are all parked on Charlie (Visitor) Ramp, or what can now be seen of it from the Brandon Road given all the recent redevelopment work. Seeing all of them is challenging, reading them all off, nigh on impossible.

Re: A56-001. Farnborough

When it arrived it was parked on the Terminal Grass area and was visible from Eelmoor Bridge. But it may have been moved since then! As of 1930 (21/4) A56-001 can also be read off and photographed from Hercules Way KSF G550 102005 / 025 can be read off and photographed from Trenchard Way, in front ...

Re: USMC F-35 September 2020?

Sadly, I was on a tight schedule and solely focused on the USMC machines. As a result, I totally overlooked having a look-see for owt else. Drat!

Cheers Phil. Saves me searching for them out on the ramps.

Can confirm the same F16s are out on the pan this morning Sun 13th.

Does that mean the other 7xF16s are tucked away in the HASs, or have they departed?

Re: FM F-16 not noted recently?

Well, it felt like I'd walked 500 miles by the time I'd strolled from the viewing area to the verge by the field and back (with a pair of step ladders!)

Re: FM F-16 not noted recently?

I noted 259 on the visitor ramp today (15/5), although rather foolishly, I left shortly before 8 of the F-16s went out for a spin.

Incidentally, whilst I was wandering along the verge, I found a pair a black spectacles adjacent to 'the field'. Has anyone lost a pair recently?

Re: A10 65 Field access

I have visited Lakenheath a couple of times over the last few weeks. I used the field to view the visiting F-15s before I became aware of the Stone Curlew issue and before any signs had been erected. When I became aware of the issue, I walked along the verge by the main road and managed to bag all t...

Re: A10 65 Field access

I spoke to the local plod whilst on a recce up and down the verge / fence line. Very nice they were too. They confirmed the bird issue and the estate's concern about tresspass on their land and access road. The police were concerned about my safety due to the high speed nature of the road. This was ...

Re: A10 65 Field access

If the MOs are parked on the same ramp as the SJs, they should be visible from Maidscross Hill and the 'crater'. If the weather conditions are favourable, you can even read them off from here, with a bit of yomping, patience, and a good set of optics.

So while not ideal, all may not be lost.

That's also a good point. Unlike the famous C-130 gathering, you'd struggle to tell any air arms C-17 from another. No SEA camo, silver, gunship versions, Snoopy or ones on skies.
That' why I found watching SR71s so boring, they were always black. Same goes for U2S. 😉

I'm just hoping they can persuade the various operators to pitch up with 30 C-17s in 2021, to celebrate its 30th anniversary of its first flight - Herc-Phantom-styley!

Yes it is (commemorating the 40th anniversary). Further examination of my hastily taken snaps has revealed that the other one was also wearing a special scheme (commemorating the 45th anniversary).

Re: REQ: Spotting tips Sigonella

Cheers for the advice. In the end, I managed to catch the three preserved aircraft F104, Tracker and Atlantique. There were also a couple of demobbed Atlantiques present towards the eastern end of the airfield, one with a distinctive Tiger c/s fin. On the Italian ramp was a Polish Navy M28 and Spani...
