Great set, funny as you say how what may have not seemed particularly noteworthy at the time now looks exceptional :)

Samlesbury Families Day 15 Sep 1990

Hi,

Does anybody have a log of flying participants at this BAE families day in 1990?

Seemed quite a nice collection of participants, including 4x F-4, Buccaneer as well Warton based Hawks, Lightning and Tornadoes.

Thanks

Nick

Hi

Looking for KC / RC 135 kits 1/72 scale, anything considered.

Thanks
Hi,

I have ESCI #9122, Desert Storm KC135A, plus a decent selection of aftermarket decals from Xtradecal X038-72.

Feel free to make me a sensible offer.

Almost certain that the USAF doesn't know whether the RC-135s are going or staying right now which is why it hasn't yet said anything. A bit like when the USAF said it was closing Mildenhall and the press release just said "RC-135s are going somewhere TBC" etc.
common sense alert 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

Who knows why the official announcement was so nonspecific regards naming UK bases, but the way the Trump administration operates it could be that host nation formalities had not yet been completed, they either haven't told us they want to retain Mildenhall or we haven't formally accepted their requ...

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

Either way I think moving the 480FS & draw down of Spang Is probably a done deal. Which would in theory secure Mildenhall’s future. The ‘big ticket’ item in the drawdown is really the 2nd Cavalry - which is as far as I can tell the only ‘war fighting’ unit based in Germany after V Corps was dispand...
