Re: Buff Callsigns

Using "Doom" today - a long standing 2BW callsign. Their use of callsigns does seem to vary quite randomly, for example sometimes they use the GP callsing "Mytee" or the unit callsigns (e.g. Scalp / Doom), and then they throw in one-offs, sometimes for just the arrival / departure. Doesnt seem to be...

Really nice pics. Any discussion on what will happen to her (and the others) when the developers move in?

it seems some of the money allocated to the RC135 facilities at Fairford has been reallocated to Trumps "wall" https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/6382424/List-of-DOD-deferrals.pdf So apologies for being slow on the uptake, but is that a list of works that has been deferred or cancelled? Re: RAF St Mawgan and others

Nice set Andy. 1st time I've seen any St.Mawgan pics posted. Don't want to seem pedantic but the Tornado is actually an F3. You'll appreciate I'm sensitive about people getting my namesake right. That Spanish P-3 is a bit of a rarity. Look forward to yr next post as these are quality. These might i...

Re: 6 Ex RAF Tristars sold to US company

[Several later RAF VC10s sat at Abingdon for twice as long, without the care and maintenance these have had. One way ferry shouldn’t be an issue.] The VC10s had engines removed and we're cacooned in protective spray, each one then required a substantial amount of work in a hangar for the one way fl...

Sheesh, a billion USD to support 3 jets max. Plus all the money going into Spang and RS... I wonder whether anybody has shared the business case for this with Trump yet?

Edit: Actually Tornado, that cant be right. You sure he didn't say 96.2 million?

Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020

Just comparing rough size by size as Mildenhall would be to big for Marshalls on there own They wouldn't, necessarily, need to take the whole of Mildenhall and all the buildings? and it would then mean it still was commutable without upheaval of the whole workforce and the logistics. Mildenhall, is...

FOR SALE: 1x Adult Cosford Club Airshow ticket (SOLD)

Due to a change in circumstances I now have a spare Cosford Club enclosure ticket for the Airshow on Sunday 9th June.

I believe these sold out sometime ago. Ideally would like to get back what I paid, so face value of £65.

Let me know if interested. ## Now SOLD ##

Interestingly only 10% will be housed on base with rest being housed in the local area.
That alone will present an interesting challenge I imagine, in an area with an already massively overheated property market.

Lovely shot of the Blackbird. And Lightning XP753 as well, another one with an interesting story, but with a sad ending unfortunately.

To be able to step back in time, eh?
