Re: A10 65 Field access

Your very last thought may well have hit the nail on the head, Mark. Stone Curlews are warmer weather visitors to the UK (between March and October) and nesting can last up to September with two or three clutches being produced. They have a conservation status of Amber and are protected under the Th...

Re: A10 65 Field access

Two signs one at either end saying no parking for 1 mile would suffice. It’s not that hard to enforce measures if so desired. Give the police a reason and they’ll enforce it, work with them and show some common sense they may hold off. Perhaps I have got my wires crossed, but I thought it was a "cl...

Re: MO F15E Departing Lakenheath

They did today, but soon returned due to KC-135 problem - KC-10 continued across the pond. New NOTAM for tomorrow should see them leave around 13.00BST. You sure thats not for MAZDA 21 flt and not todays No idea, Paul. The NOTAM is actually 25min longer, so could they be trying to get both away (se...

Re: A10 65 Field access

I see from a post on SMAS that the police have now taken an interest in usage of the "golf course" track. Apparently, they told someone this morning that the field is out of bounds because it is private property, an SSSI and ground nesting birds have been noted in there. Also, parking down there wil...

Oh yes, and they were very strict on the Quiet Hours on Sunday - nothing (and I mean nothing) before 13.00. If you caught it during REFORGER, it was manic with C-141s and C-5s.

That was the time it was supposed to be down there, Andy. So I would guess that you did see it.

NOTAM showed 15.59z (16.59BST) over SW Hayling Island and it was more or less running to time..

Re: Mildenhall on Sundays

I'm a bit luckier than Mark in that I have to travel about 50 miles less (single direction) than him. Because of that, I can delay my departure from home until they would be passing Newfoundland, but it is still a 3.5 - 4 hour trip for me (about 175 miles) depending on traffic, road works (e.g. A14 ...

Another super post With the exception of 415 and 428 I saw them as AR , picked up 66-0428 as a Nebraska Wonder if they later became AR or were originally Alconbury RF-4C They were "AR" before Kentucky. With the exception of '428, I saw all of them in early 1977 as "AR". I made '428 on this deployme...
