Yes I just took the numbers back then , I have my log from 1980 onwards for St Mawgan before then I just logged under aircraft type I didn’t get my Praktica MTL3 until 1981 so no photos from 1980. We also had an Argus take off that day too😊

Great pictures Tim, I think the T-33 was taken on 21st April 1980 and possibly the Vulcan too, I remember that day very well 😊 The only French T-33 I saw in service.

Re: St MawganIAD 1980 - best P-3 line up....ever....

I remember seeing your original photo Tim over 40 years ago and being very jealous not owning a camera 😊 I think the P-3 line may have been taken on arrivals day 12 August 1980. They took no part in the air show but we also had two other Orions for static 157318/LL30 VP-30 and 158918/LF8 VP-16…. Tho...

Re: It all started with an F104

Was the first shot taken on 25th Feb 1981. If so I have a picture of the twin seater taxiing past the “old” civil terminal which I just scanned last weekend from my original photo. We probably spent some time together at St Mawgan during the 80’s. Great pictures in your recent posts by the way and I...

Re: MCAS Miramar Air Show - Travel to the base

Two years ago we took a taxi, there is a dedicated drop off and pick up point at the back of one of the car parks - it was silver in 2018. A little pricey from downtown San Diego but cheaper than renting a car.

4 white tops in Mildenhall on Wednesday 2nd August

Hi All, I passed by Mildenhall during the early hours of Wednesday morning to see the cobra ball that arrived Tuesday evening and noted 4 white tops. Three will be the cobra ball, constant phoenix and the deployed RC-135W but can someone tell me the ID of the fourth please. Thanks Simon
