Re: Hill AFB Museum, Utah, June '23 - Outside
Always upset me that the YA7F was left outside, and has been since it arrived in the 90s. Curators have no sense of history.

Re: Luke AFB base visit 25th September 1979. Photo heavy.
Fantastic! superb post it's all a bit different now at Luke AFB - Various shades of Grey being the order of the day. I didn't see a USAF F-104 in service Various shades is an under statement, even sun shades today. Boring!!! My first base it was. Fuel spills under the aircraft from expansion of the...

Re: SR-71 Hangars at Mildenhall
I just had a look on Google Earth and it's the building South of building 707 across the ramp from all the 130s. It's the drive-thru hangar you can tell one side is a car park

Re: SR-71 Hangars at Mildenhall
Originally, I think they used the Team Mildenhall hangar as Shuck says. The U2 also nested there. They then had two purpose-built sheds near what is now the C130 line on the south-west corner of the base. I can also recall seeing an SR being backed into one the HAS's near the Brandon road at Lakenh...

I don't know what the pod is on the second F-4 but it looks like a pave tack pod as it has what looks like a swiveling ball in the back of it maybe it is maybe it isn't but I know the Air Force quit using them on F4 due to the drag factor

Re: Mirramar Air show 2022
The morning of the show you're able to get on base but if you don't get there early they'll direct you some place that you don't want to Park so it's best to get there early and drive up as close to the flight line as you can there's parking spots all along the front Road that parallels the flight l...
