I always had an old pals reunion when I lived in Cambridge which as timed for the Air Fete. One of them was a pilot who had joined the FAA and, on entering the EC121 and asking pertinent questions, we were soon ushered off !!

That's a terrific view of life "at work", thanks baz. I only attended a couple of family days and one working visit (messing about with XX156 when it was with the trials fleet), but remember it as a very interesting place and you'd never know what you'd find in a corner! Random Saudi fuselage pieces...

Fantastic memories! I remember the lines of people lining the fence while they were flying (can't remember where we all parked though). The long lines of aeroplanes taxying out were impressive, but it took a while. (Anyone remember the large 56Sqn flag being flown by the Nav?). I'd be interested to ...

The aircraft will be taxiing to a designated arming/check area. I believe that it is know as Combat Arming? During Libya operations you would regularly see the Typhoons taxiing with the remove before flight pin/tags to the final check area before take-off. Thanks for that, sounds logical. I can't r...
