Lovely shots Claudio. Thanks for posting. I particularly like the Portofino in front of the Starfighter over at the barracks.

Re: Aurora Borealis

Roger,
Can’t say that I’ve seen it in the U.K. myself, but I remember an electrician working overnight in one of my teams in Dorset saying that he had seen them the night before. That was back in the early 2000’s from memory.

Hi Nico, This probably isn't going to help. However, we left at c.1940hrs having identified all 15 that were outside: 54+20 074 54+26 086 54+01 018 (54+07) 043 54+28 088 54+27 087 54+08 046 54+15 063 54+17 067 54+22 081 54+18 069 54+12 057 54+14 061 54+29 090 54+05 landed back from Nordholz whilst w...

Re: unknown aircraft at Warner Robbins Museum

If that tyre wasn’t in the way, at least the ‘23’ part of the serial could be seen below ‘01 0094’ when viewed on Wednesday last. Thanks to Andy, I’ve also tied this one up and understand why no-one on site knew where this was when we visited the 8th AF museum the day before!

Re: Yeovilton Air Day - 2019

Was reassured, yesterday, to be able to confirm that there is more than one design of poster advertising this year's show. The one outside the Fleet Air Arm museum café does indeed show the CF-18 and the tooled-up F-35, and looks to be a bastardised version of the 2018 poster.

Re: Yeovilton Air Day - 2019

Fair enough Del. The air show poster I described was in the vestibule outside the Swordfish restaurant last Wednesday. Now I'm worried  I was looking at last year's edition. I'll have to go back and check . :S

Re: Yeovilton Air Day - 2019

I read into the email they could be announcing a F-35 fly past at a later date, or is that just wishful thinking. An RAF one did the flypast at Fairford last year with the Lancaster and Tornado, The Past, The Present, and The Future. I read the same thing into it. I seem to remember they tried to g...

Re: Russian Open Skies An-30 01 BLUE

Folks, I'm interested to know if the An-30 that visited in June 2008 as 01 Black is a different machine to the one here this week. The c/n for this earlier has been quoted as '0390217152' - which is an odd c/n for an An-30.
Thanks,

Re: Yeovil (Westlands) Sightings Spring 2019

I'm more interested in this comment : The HH-101A on the far west of the flight line at 1400hrs carried MM81870 on the tail and a UK serial on the fuselage. I think this is 15-07 but there was nowhere to view that from. I don't think any HH-101A carrying 15-08 has been sighted yet. If the micky mou...

Re: Yeovil (Westlands) Sightings Spring 2019

Keith, Thanks. I've read that report too. I did see the one in the wash rig recently but it wasn't readable in that position. I've also know someone who's photographed it clearly as 15-10... "Tempus narrabo", as my old Latin master would have said (or perhaps the Italian crews still say  ). ...

Just departed at 1215L EH101 looked like one of the Italian's. Anyone identify it. Flying as WHE01. Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

Do you know the reason they are not allowed to do a dynamic display? The Germans do not really display at Airshows, have not done so since the Ramstein accident.346 seriously injured and 70 dead. The Luftwaffe had numerous displays post-Ramstein, including fast jet solos from the Tornado, Phantom a...

Word is that they both needed to be in The Philippines for early April... and because the training is behind schedule, this has been put back 1 month to early May.
