Nice shots Harold. You must have had a tall step ladder for the first one!
I thought those Sea Kings looked very smart for aircraft that are 50 years old.

Re: Bastille Day Flyover
Hi John, No. You would be about 8 miles from the centre-line (Av. des Champs Elysees) of the flypast and the aircraft would be at about 1000ft. A neat, concise guide to viewing said flypast is available on https://wagsite.co.uk/ under 'recent reports'. (A 'day return' flight is available with easyJe...

Tuesday 17th June 2025. 1230hrs.
Called in here after getting the car serviced in Yeovil:
G-SEAK Sea King HAR3
G-LNKX Lynx AH7
It's a good job that Westlands used to build helicopters here once, otherwise the airfield would have been shut today!

Hi Gary, We stayed in Krakow, not too far from the Royal Castle earlier this month. Didn't find Schindler's museum what we expected it to be - more about Krakow under Nazi occupation than Schindler's work saving hundreds of lives. If you're looking for somewhere to eat one night, we can recommend Th...

Nellis. Thai F-16s 28.03.2003
Prompted by a321's recent post, I'm looking for help identifying the remaining unidentified Thai F-16As on the above date. Through the heat haze, along with C-130H 60169 & A.310 44-444, I could make out 5 of the 7 as 10202,10211,10212,10214 & 10216. Help with the remaining 2 would be very welcome. F...

Maria did very well to produce an apparent positive from a £120 million negative.
A good example of a career politician!

Interesting pictures. Thank you. If I owned those aircraft on the Alpha Ramp, I'd be thinking of installing some containment walls now...

Serious question to any knowledgeable person out there - Do we still have those two spare radars or did we flog them off on the cheap?
Thanks,

Re: miss pole ZZ491?
hi, thank you Andy, much appreciated , as to why i did not know the day or time for sure, the key word is "family" holiday, beach, pool, etc, i noted it, then after i got home i was marking up. I saw that ZZ419 was a Shadow, so that ruled it out. Also POL, when i "spot" i note the serial and the da...

Re: French Helicopters
Chris, There may be several reasons why they don't show. One you alluded to - they are flying too low for receivers contributing to the VR apps to 'see'. Another is that they simply do not transmit the necessary information when transiting to a ship off shore. Medium level Wildcats and Merlins often...

No problem! If you need it again, it's the lowest icon on the right hand side of the display - the one that has a right facing triangle inside an anticlockwise turning arrow. Good luck.

They do. Photo 8 shows 4 x F-16A/B shrink-wrapped fuselages just before they were air-lifted by An-124 to Ukraine via Poland. The Fairford Mole wrote: ↑Wed May 21, 2025 10:45 amWhat a cracking set of photos

Hi Gary, me and Mrs Kipling have done a couple of good Battlefield tours with Leger. Both were guided by mutton-chops Gary, as it happened. The first might have been All Quiet on the Western Front, and we chose that because it went near a CWG cemetery that one of Mrs Kipling's relatives is interred i...
