Coningsby Tiffies
First trip down since last year to Coningsby. Weather started very cloudy with fierce cross winds but managed a few shots yesterday. A slow morning but then a big launch in mid afternoon. Grey jets on a grey day, but at least these are lighter grey than F-35  Thankfully managed to catch a few o...

Re: 'Firebird' flares
Thanks for the comments chaps.
Certainly was a bit of a rarity, guess it was another box that had to be ticked for the armourer in the back
Cheers

Re: '70s Carrier shots - Probably from Ark Royal
Thanks for the info Keith. I also recall taking my family to a Plymouth Navy Day once on our return journey from a holiday in Newquay. Sadly no carriers alongside on that occasion. Good bit of research on your part identifying the identity of the A-7 Thanks Mick, I think we can confirm too that the...

Thanks a lot for posting this great selection of shots of an interesting day 3Greens. Although all are great, the Jaguar with missionmarks, the German An.26 and the aircraft on the firedump I find really great to see. Arnold Thanks very much Arnold for the comments. Quite amazing I understand that ...

'Firebird' flares
Made a quick call into Donna Nook this morning as I noted P-8A ZP809 as 'Firebird 16' making its way down from Lossie. Sister machine ZP806 had had a couple of sessions on here earlier this week for 'flare' firing training. Around here usually only see P-8's cruising high altitude on airways and the...

Re: Lakenheath/Mildenhall Monday 8th
Fantastic set Paul  The F-35's are growing on me .. I think. Sad to see the Hawks departing was hoping that their contract would have lasted a bit longer to catch them on the deck. They've tracked OTT here en route to the 323's regularly over the past weeks. Noted they tracked KEF into Narsars...

Re: '70s Carrier shots - Probably from Ark Royal
Hi Mick, I think I may have the answer you've been looking for. I certainly remember the last holiday as a teenager that I took with my parents in 1971. My dad thought it might be a good idea ( oh yes) to visit the Plymouth Navy Days which coincided with our caravan holiday to Torquay in the August....

COTTESMORE July 1991
Some great posts recently enjoyed from the TTTE at Cottesmore including the brilliant family days. Not wishing to be like 'London' buses the 1989 event was recently posted so I've chosen the 1991 show, which started rather wet but cleared up nicely during the morning. As usual the base team were ver...

Re: TTTE
Great TTTE selection Mark  Such a great vantage spot for photography on that bend in the lane. Tornado's would often depart low level up the Trent Valley crossing the river near the Humber Bridge, then low level around North Yorkshire or Scotland before making approaches into Binbrook before...

Re: Canberra Anniversary Photo Call - May '89 Wyton
Hi Mick, great memories of indeed one of the best Anniversary do's staged by the RAF. The weather was so bad we nearly turned around en route but decided to press on, thankfully as the depression moved away north. The 40th Anniversary sky blue painted frame marked as 'VN799' in the line was I believ...

Re: RAF BINBROOK hangar & flightline tour 5th August 1987
A former Lightning pilot and friend of mine had the code BJ displayed on his jet. This was because his name was John Aldington, or BJ, as he was known. Indeed freebird, I believe as a Sqd.Ldr he also had the distinction of flying one of the last 3 F.6's at the end of June 1988 down to Cra...
