Re: Mildenhall 27-8-1979 CP-107 Argus Plus others

This has been a tremendous history trip to view such a rare kind. On the evening of Tuesday 10th May 1977 while sat on the fence at my local Binbrook and waiting for some evening Lightning launches, I made a note of a very rare flypast of an Argus droning along in the quiet evening - about 5 miles t...

Very nice shots, and a great capture
It does seem so odd that in the procurement of our fleet, that we are still dependent on probably this aircraft as well as USAFE KC135 for the support of our new P8A arrivals and the RC135 assets,
oh well

Re: What is this aircraft up to?

I'd suggest doing aerial survey work, there's been a lot of this going on with the quieter skies, especially in the early days of lockdown, covering a lot of the country, seen a lot on flight tracker apps and indeed over my house. It's not Swiss Air Force btw but Swiss Flight Services who are an ae...

Re: The RAF mid-week summer airshows

Great captures of the 'special ones'. I do remember one sunny evening at the fence at Binbrook hearing and seeing this large piston aircraft lumbering by and wondering what an earth it was ... an Argus wasnt first thought! What a sight he was on his way down to St.Mawgan.

Whirlwind HAR.10 XP344

I've really enjoyed seeing the shots from the SAR Historic Flight - a visit there is definitely on the cards. I had recently been sorting through some old B&W negs and slides and came across these of Whirlwind HAR.10 XP344 which was frequently seen in the Grimsby area attending the hospital from its...
