Re: India v Pakistan

If you are monitoring the right channels , there is a lot of talk this morning about avoiding the area. Initially RCH flights were advised that airspace restrictions applied only to civil flights , however Pakistan is now not allowing any a/c through . In addition to diverting , RCH are advised to c...

Re: ISS visible passes - ongoing thread

If using PlanePlotter switch to F11 the skyview function and move the view to south, zoom out and youll see that after sunset PP is programmed to track the brightest , visible , satellites for you. So you'll not only see overflying a/c , but also satellites local to your location. Folk often mistake...

Celtic Sea medivac

Last week , while travelling on a cruise ship returning from the Med there was an incident off the French coast which prompted me to set up PlanePlotter at sea. Unfortunately one of the passengers was taken ill so the captain decided to implement a medivac recovery performed by the French Navy/Marin...

Re: Heads up . . . incoming!

Here's a link to some other objects coming our way. https://cneos.jpl.nasa.gov/ca/ Co-incidentally the "Wanderer" passed by during the period of some pretty nasty storms both here and in the US , which caused power outages etc. We know that the position of the Moon controls our tides and to some ext...

Re: Using ADSB

No problem.

Just one other thing....

Only one system puts you in total control of what you see allowing you to manually locate individual a/c with no restrictions , other than availability of data.

I'll leave you to work out which one

Re: Using ADSB

I think that whichever system you are using its important to understand what lies behind a/c location. The same principles apply no matter where you are. For ADS-B , that's where the a/c is transmitting its location , then you need just one receiver to be seeing the target For Mode S a/c , which don...

Re: MAGMA flight tests ?

Hi Vapours The Irish Sea Delta areas and West Freugh have long been associated with "black triangle" sightings. There was a frenzy of activity up there in the late 1990s with some ill informed folk claiming it to be a secret UFO base :halo: There are recorded conversations between what were thought ...

Re: MAGMA flight tests ?

As with Taranis ?

Yes I wondered about that but I get the impression this is a small demonstrator rather than full size job.
Twenty years ago they flew these things like large RC models across the Lancashire moors and in the Irish Sea initially.
