Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF
The aircraft will be taxiing to a designated arming/check area. I believe that it is know as Combat Arming? During Libya operations you would regularly see the Typhoons taxiing with the remove before flight pin/tags to the final check area before take-off. Thanks for that, sounds logical. I can't r...

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF
A couple of comments: The series is obviously highly edited and only the keen types like us or the professionals would notice. Did I notice a Typhoon taxying with all the flags flying from the pins? A pal of mine flew F4s and routine was to pass close underneath the opposition to read the con.no of...

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF
Re the Bear intercept, the 3 number tailcode was blurred out? It was strange footage. The footage was mirrored. The serial was visible but reversed. It was ZK305 with the fin as you say blurred out. There wasn't a single missile on ZK305. Looks like they were just filling in with old non related fo...

Hopefully the scrapyard will see the potential for the cockpit sections? No doubt everything will have been stripped out of the cockpits, but they would be of interest to cockpit collectors. The US are quite strict on such things and I guess everything will be scrapped? Time will tell!

Re: Top Guns Inside The RAF
Noticed the SWO picking up on ID s not displayed on lanyards.Didnt see his ID. It really surprised me the way the Officers and other ranks interacted when I visited my son on HMS Ocean and Montrose Really lax but it worked. The SWO had his ID attached to his belt on the left hand side. He was picki...

Seen worse. Interesting loadout on the Typhoon taxying out during the "Alpha Scramble" from Amari towards the end of the 3rd section of the program (about 45 mins in). What's the pod on the port wing station? Doesn't look anything like the drop tank on the starboard wing. Looks a bit like the ECM p...

Re: Reports :- SU-27 & MQ-9 “incident” over the Black Sea
From what I can find is the su27, fuel dump valve is 1 in the rear cone, My view is that jet engaged both afterburner and used the force of the burners and thrust to make the drone unstable, force thou bent the rear prop instead. Not convinced it was fuel dump from 2 dump valve inside the rear engi...
