Re: LN Runway Status 24/06 (or 25/06)

Morning chaps. We are fortunate enough to be headed airside at the heath next Tuesday 21st. Does anyone know what the latest is regarding the runway?? Is this a base visit?. If so would be very interested in one of those, especially with my kids? All base visits will be cx during COVID. And were no...

Re: Req: KC-135 Location?

As far as I’m aware it’s still an MH bird. And it should be on station, as it’s not one of the two that are on the Moron TDY at present.
Not aware that it’s away anywhere else either at this time, but it’s possible.

Roughly 2 miles long, tarmac and concrete with a few cables strung across it :P Seriously though as far as I’m aware it’s back in normal ...

Re: Apache landing Thursday 25/6

I assume it was these two which flew over Leicester yesterday morning probably around 1115am in a SE to NW direction. Unlikely they flew together with two different callsigns. As both hunter and gunship were reported as ‘2’ both were possibly in flights of two, although both not necessarily showing...

Re: Cambridge plus some more Marham!

Thanks for the comments The Marham shots were from a couple of different days. The F-35B are back taxying down runway 24 and then turning around to line up for take off - I walk up to the fence from the layby at the 24 arrival end. There is a track well away from the crops but I can't vouch for whe...

Re: List of 48FW Aircraft

Great stuff. Are any of the special marked jets still around?? Apart from the normal ‘boss birds’..... 84-0010 “Blue Tail” 493rd heritage jet is still there, just out of Mx and flew again this afternoon. The other two heritage jets are; one at PDM Robins AFB and the other came back earlier this wee...

Re: John's Field Re-opening July 04 The Rules

To be honest, i'd think a pot of money would be much more hygienic than a lock! I tend to agree. IMO this has now made the COVID situation LESS safe... previously you could turn up, pay into honesty box, and you didn’t have to mix with anyone or touch anything if you didn’t want or need to. Now you...

No conformal tanks on them?
They are removed at LN before going to PDM. They will be refitted before going back onto the flight line.

Re: RRR607 Voyager ZZ336 (new paint scheme)

Agreed and well put. I believe we should have one, but not right now. Trouble is it would have been planned months ago long before COVID, to cancel at last minute would Still involve huge costs, but with no work being done, so probably more cost effective to keep as plan than cx and reschedule it f...
