Does anyone know which the two F-4s beside them were? They had intake blanks in place suggesting they were airworthy. I wonder if they were 01520 and 71745 which flew Tuesday, but not Wednesday.

That's great - many thanks.

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

On the other side of the runway, next to some hangars, there were 2 F16's, standing next to 2 F4's. Anybody for the serials of these 2 F16's? 005 & 508 One additional F-16 was visible inside a nearby shelter, seen from direction Tower. Thanks for these. Does anyone know which the two F-4s beside th...

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

I too am going to the spotters day on the 10th and have received no joining instructions. I have pinged them an email this morning, but no reply yet. The report on last year's Threshold Aero visit to the spotters day says they met at the main gate at 8am, and were bussed to the far side around 08:45...

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

Quick question from an Adravida newbie to those who have been before - do the HAF sell any food, drink or merchandise (coins, patches etc) on the day and if so, do they take cash or card? Thanks.

Looking forward to bumping into some of you out there next week!

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

Has anyone had joining instructions for the 10th yet, e.g. where to meet and at what time? Or if not, what have the arrnagements been in previous years?

Word of warning to anyone going to the museum. Although the museum exhibits are there to be photographed, be careful of turning the camera on any of the based flying a/c (Tecnams, T-41?, PZL Dromaders), security take a dim view of this.
Thanks for the warning - noted!

Nice photos - right place(s) at the right time(s).

And it explains why I couldn't find them on ADSB when I heard they were going from Shawbury to Biggin Hill!!

I have had confirmation today by email that the Museum will be open weekdays 0900-1300. Entry is free but you will need to show your passport at the entrance. They have quite a large collection of aircraft.

According to ukserials.com there are 16 at Kemble for scrapping, namely ZH116, ZH118, ZH119, ZH125, ZH126, ZH127, ZH145, ZH146, ZH148, ZH184, ZH193, ZH194, ZH205, ZH211, ZH268 and ZH270. According to "grahamdevizes" above, at least a dozen (his words) are in the "Belfast" compound, so perhaps all 16...

Re: Exercise Iniochos 2024

I applied on Monday of this week for my son and I, following the method suggested by slogan51 in his Jan 30th post earlier in this thread (thanks Mike) including photos of our passport pages. I heard back on Tuesday that we are accepted. The reply states that the unit (presumably at Adravida) will b...

Christmas 2023 Closure:

The current Benson ATIS states that ATC is now closed until 10:15z on Monday 8th January, so no Puma, Chinook or Grob activity until then. However the ATZ will remain active with Police, Air Ambulance and Flying Club aircraft operating in and out as normal.

Re: NATO selects the E-7 as replacement for the E-3

Sixteen active E-3s to be replaced by just six E-7s. Is this a sign that the E-7 is significantly more capable (or reliable) than the E-3?

Re: Confusion over fast jets.

Military fast jets do not transmit their positions. Instead sites like FR24 (and others) estimate the position of the aircraft based on people sharing data from their home-ADSB receivers. I think a 12 mile error is entirely possible, especially as they were at low level and flying through an area wi...

Re: VAR

Without VAR, Newcastle would have still beaten Arsenal. The Ref's and his assistant's real-time decision was that it was a goal. Football has always "suffered" from dodgy referee's decisions, and you have to hope that over a season the ones that go against you are balanced out by the ones for you. M...
