Fantastic set. All amazing but Lemoore and Yuma are the pick for me.

Lovely selection Gordon.
I remember a morning at the beach there on my first US trip back in the mid 90s. Wall to wall S-3s then!

Re: Mildenhall Air Fetes
Great set Darren. Lovely crisp, impeccably scanned images. The subject matter isn't too shabby either. :P Static photography at the air fetes was always 'cluttered', but you knew to expect that so no great disappointment. These images sum up perfectly the unique atmosphere of this legendary annual e...

Really fascinating set of photos.
Beautifully exposed and scanned too. Interesting to see such good natural light in the maintenance hangars from the north-light roof windows. Imagine the gloomy RAF equivalent!

An interesting part of the current situation that's for sure.
The current U-2 WR tail code is for Warner Robbins, Georgia. The cold war era U-2s in the UK were at Alconbury not Woodbridge.

Air Forces Monthly Magazines - Free collection
I have a large collection of AFM going back to 1988. I really can't be bothered with trying to sell these via ebay or other means. Taking them to a charity shop will probably see them sent for recycling. I'd rather these went to someone interested, so am offering to FC members the complete collectio...

Re: Once upon a time in the west, Phancon Luke 1/11/00
Great pictures Gordon. :thumb: I remember this day very well. That hour or so at the last chance area was frenetic! I also remember spending an afternoon out on the road shooting the approach, probably the day before this. And the whole PhanCon contingent having lunch in the O Club! Great place. Tha...

Hi Gordon. Fantastic recent series of photos from the 99 west coast trip. I'm pretty sure me and Pete Greengrass are amongst the photographers on the gantry behind the grey F-4! Phancon 99 was the best I attended. F-4 heaven in amazing California sunshine. The whole trip was amazing. I've bee...

Definitely not boring us, as all the comments should be telling you! Keeping us fans of USAFE phantoms very happy. I shot K64 for ten years through the 90s. When the sun was out you pretty much couldn't go wrong with the 'sunny 16' rule. 250 f8. When the sun wasn't out it was a struggle! Your exposu...

The usual impeccable standard of subject and images. Thanks for sharing these selections.
Shame you seemed to hit such grey weather for these trips to the East Anglian fence lines. Did the sun ever shine for your trips to Lakenheath etc. in the 70s?

Re: Alleged UFO or UAP, 1990, Calvine, Scotland
I'm drifting this off topic but it's an interesting subject so I'll carry on. Certainly more interesting to us aviation bods on here I would say. Digging around the Coronet website also shows the 474TFW Nellis F-16s to Bentwaters as Coronet Wrangler in April 82. So yes, with three deployments in 4 y...
