ZM419 A400 Leeds/Bradford - 2 June 2020

A few shots of ZM419 up from Brize Norton to do a few practice approaches at Leeds/Bradford Airport. Taken from my garden in Rothwell to the south of the city with the aircraft at around 3,500'. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49964447098_0ef8ee1737_b.jpg ZM419 - 1 by Stephen Procter , on Flickr...

Re: Atlas tours

ZM415 did four practice approaches at Leeds/Bradford Airport today before heading off to do similar at Prestwick. I've posted a couple of snaps in the photography section.

A400 at Leeds/Bradford

A bit of welcome activity over the house this morning as ZM415 from Brize Norton did a series of practice approaches at Leeds/Bradford Airport. 'Ascot 480' did four passes before heading off north to Prestwick. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49842771422_ff47ddca2e_b.jpg ZM415 - 2 by Stephen Pro...

Re: RAF Cosford Airshow 2020 - Sunday 14th June 2020

Just heard that RIAT (in July) has been cancelled. I expect we will sadly see Cosford cancel in due course along with other shows.

Costa Rica Sloths

I have posted some aviation images elsewhere from my recent trip to Costa Rica but my camera and lens were packed really for the purpose of photographing some of the scenery and wildlife of this lovely country. Here are a few from my encounters with sloths.. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49619...

Liberia Airport, Costa Rica - February 2020

Just returned from a marvelous two weeks in this wonderful country. Apart from flying in and out of Liberia Airport in Guanacaste province we had cause to pass by on a few occasions on various excursions (sloths, volcanoes etc..). Noted a number of aircraft on the ground which might be of interest t...

Cosford club is well worth it. I was there for the 2018 show and loved it. Already booked it for 2020 again.
Absolutely. This will be our third year in there...

Re: Apollo 11 as live 50 Years ago

Thanks for the kind words about the collection. Yes, 'Moondust' is a very interesting read. Apart from Armstrong and Aldrin I've been very lucky over years to meet six other moonwalkers (Bean, Mitchell, Scott, Young, Duke and Cernan) as well as a number of other Apollo astronauts who didn't make the...

Re: Apollo 11 as live 50 Years ago

I remember being up all night to watch the moonwalk. I was already interested in space to a degree but this kindled a lifelong interest (passion) in the history of Apollo. A bit picture heavy but I hope these are of interest, especially to those of 'a certain age....' https://live.staticflickr.com/7...

JP's over Cosford

A little light Jet Provost/Strikemaster action from Cosford. Always found it an airfield with a very attractive backdrop. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48094094702_7b7d9b517e_b.jpg DEA_7499 by Stephen Procter , on Flickr https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48094030818_1bb4d107e1_b.jpg DEA_7502...

Re: RAF Cosford Airshow 2019 - Sunday 9th June 2019

I see the four Jaguars on the southside have been noted. These I imagine were those to the left of the hangar. There were two also on the right of the hangar. Anyone know which they were?

Thanks

Sherburn Vintage and Veterans Day - 27 May 2019

A quick trip across to Sherburn Airfield to see what visitors the fly-in brought. Highlight of the day was an unexpected low flypast and near touch and go by C-47 42-24064 (N74589) 'Placid Lassie' en-route from Prestwick to Duxford for the 'Daks Over Normandy' event. https://live.staticflickr.com/65...

Re: RIAT Friday - couple of clarifications, please

My first time at RIAT on the Saturday, enjoyed it immensely. Couldn't believe how lucky we were with the weather. I'm not familiar with the orientation of the airfield so am not sure which the 'North' side is. Is this over where the hangars are and all the display teams aircrafts were parked up. Wer...
