2016
Hello all! I was going to post a thread with my favourite images from 2016. However, at 83 I think this is too many. So instead I've written an article on what I saw. I hope it's of interest. Happy New Year! https://turnnburnaviation.com/2017/01/04/2016-reviewed/ https://turnnburn.files.wordpress.co...

Lakenheath
I know there's been hundreds of RAF Lakenheath articles, but here's mine.

Re: Phantoms and Eagles
I've been in September, August and February. Heat haze is an issue at all times. But I'd go for late September as it's slightly cooler. Mid summer is 35+ and 90% humidity.

If you've not been to Japan yet, save up and go and see the F-4s before it's too late.

USAF Thunderbirds
I recently had chance to see the USAF Thunderbirds up close during sunset. Here are some of them. Sorry for the watermarks, they're linked from my website. https://turnnburn.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/img_2826.jpg?w=1000&h=&crop=1 https://turnnburn.files.wordpress.com/2016/12/img_2854.jpg?w=1000&h=...

Re: NAF El Centro
Thanks for the positive feedback. It's a superb location and I think it benefits from being a Facility instead of a Base. Meaning many types and forces use it. The heat is unbearable though, but the same can be said for most of the South Western USA

NAF El Centro
When NAF El Centro is good, it's excellent. All images, except the CH-46, are taken OUTSIDE the fence. Awesome base!

Super Hornet Simulator
I recently had chance to 'fly' in a US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet simulator at NAS Lemoore, California.

Display 23rd?
Hello
I noticed there's a notam for a display at Coningsby today at 1145-1245 GMT.
What's the likelihood of there being one?
Many thanks
Kenny

Gary said Rebel 61 above and there's been one overhead for an hour now. Shame he's high. Doubt anyone else will work it while he's on it.

Any idea on FL? I'm at Holbeach range and there's only a high Typhoon in the area.
