Re: VC10's
I hadn't heard ZA147 had been scrapped (shame as it was the last RAF flyer) It is still on the US register as N147ZA presume this is just to make it easier to use spares from this aircraft as it has been chopped up The other three are N148ZA N150ZA N241ZD, although VC10.net says only N150ZA/ZA150 is...

Re: VC10's
Only ZA147 and ZD241 are at Bruntingthorpe. ZA148 is at Newquay. ZA150 is at Dunsfold. There was talk of ZA150 being sold to the USA a few years ago for use as a tanker. Perhaps the others to do the same or be used for spares? ZA150 and ZD241 have been ground runners in recent years. Like the ex RAF...

Re: Req. Davis Monthan B1's RTS dates.
Hi Mike Checking my photos from 13/10/10 show 16 B1 in main storage areas as expected. Just two more elsewhere one of which I read as 86-0130. There is a photo on Flickr of 86-0130 and 86-0126 together, photo undated but nearby F15s arrived 8/10 and 9/10. Looks like 86-0130 only rts briefly as it re...

Re: Bob Adams
Very sad news indeed. Even though a non driver, Bob keenly always still managed to get around chasing the numbers. Well known for his impressive brass telescope, the two of them even put in a brief (but amusing) appearance on 'Have I Got New For You' many years ago. I went on a few trips with Bob ov...

For info, the Lufthansa 727 was still owned by Boeing at the time and wasn't actually delivered to Lufthansa until 2.5.75

Re: CALIFORNIA 1980
Great shots! I presume the first three are much later dates though with an F14 at Chino (1980 probably a bit early for the preserved MIG too) and the Blackbird Air Park not opened till the 1990s AFAIK.
Thanks for posting, always good to see
