Re: Tiger Meet 2023

The Mirage 2000D which didn't fly either day I was there is 30-JF according to photos on Facebook. Scramble database has this as 641. But special tail 30-JW had 641 on the nosewheel door. https://www.flickr.com/photos/68498610@N03/53249647934/in/datetaken/ Thanks - I think the Scramble database has...

Sorry, Mike, 31+69 is a mistake isn’t it. I will check what it should have been when I get home.

Re: Tiger Meet 2023

Brilliant - that explains why I couldn't see the special Greek on the flight line.
Yes, I too saw 43+59 arrive on the Friday after lunch.
Thanks to everyone who has filled in all the gaps.

Thanks Shalter - are you sure about the Greek because I read one of the other F-16s as 003?

Re: Tiger Meet 2023

Just an update to my logs above which might be helpful to any one going this week. First there were a few new arrivals on Friday: Greek F-16D 029 in the morning and EF2000T 31+25, Tornado 43+59 and Hungarian 32 after lunch. French helicopters (which all flew on Friday) were Tigres BJI and BHK and Ga...

Re: Tiger Meet 2023

The base is quite open. There is a road to the west of the base that follows the fence line and gives good views of the western runway which was the one used for most movements on the two days I was there. You can see most of the parked aircraft although some will be quite distant. The hardest thing...

All have returned by 13.10LT landing on 32L. Also up this morning we’re two HH101s, 2 gazelles and 2 tigers. The French helicopters are parked in the southern corner to the west of the runways.

Re: Shaw AFB 26th March 1992

Thanks for your help Mike. I win the idiot of the year prize though for getting the date wrong. I meant 1992 which would explain why the T for tactical was still on the markings. I think the designation changed officially in November 1991.

Shaw AFB 26th March 1992

Would anyone be able to help with the identities of several SW F-16C that I saw on the above dates with special markings:

"33rd TFS" blue fin flash
"363TFW" blue fin flash
"363 TFW" white fin flash (might have been 89-085)
"363 TFW" yellow fin flash
"9th Air Force" yellow fin flash

MTA
David.

Re: 1 CAG CF-104 in Europe

From doing a quick bit of research, I think (I am no expert) there were eight squadrons of CF-104s based in Europe in the early 1960s. 439 and 441 at Marville, 421 and 430 at Grostenquin, 427 and 434 at Zweibrucken and 422 and 444 at Baden Solligen. When France took control of nuclear weapons based ...
