So far though I see no arguments against the Hawk T.1.

But the point still stands :)

Re: President Zelensky to visit UK today

I'm not sure Hawk T1 fits with the "Nato-standard fighter jets" brief. Whats the situation with Tranche 1 Typhoons? Could the Ukraniam pilots coujld skip UKMFTS and go straight to OCU? I imagine there are examples of pilots entering into Typhoon OCU without the T2 UKMFTS background? Or do they all f...

SOLD For Sale - Nikon 300mm f2.8 AF-S ED

It's optically perfect. A few bits of brassing on the metalwork but that is just superficial. It owes me £1500 so that's what I want back, which is a pretty good price but I got a bargain from another looper and I wouldn't dare to profit from their generosity. Selling as I am putting funds into my c...

Numberplates

This may seem like a really dumb question but I can not seem to find any info elsewhere. When we refer to squadron numbers we talk of 'number plates', but is there an actual physical entity or is it just a term to refer to the number. If the latter, then where does the term come from? If they do exi...

I count 25 different T2 airframes in use over the past month. That does not leave many more to use!

Re: UK to extend Typhoon OSD to 2040 and form additional two

With the RAF's current missions involving Iraq and possibly soon to be Syria, basing one of the new Typhoon squadrons at RAF Akrotiri may be a potential answer. They certainly have got plenty of space. Paul Speaking to some blue suiters from Marham recently, there was lots of rumours on base in the...

Re: SDSR 2015

Two more Typhoon squadrons (possibly 19 and 43 - bases unknown) Where did you get that from? I understood that Reserve squadrons went to the back of the queue when dishing out new assignments. Thus 21 and 23 would be the next in numerical order but I'm sure there are other factors such as historic ...

Re: Replace Trident with jets

So if Kim Jong Un ever loses it (well, even more than usual) and decides to nuke us, we'll have to wait 4+ weeks for our carrier to sail to within striking range of North Korea in order to provide a deterrent? NB: Striking range? Faslane to Korea is about 5400 miles. Trident operational range is ov...
