Re: Duxford Crash

I think what Pol is referring to is the direction the aircraft went in - ie towards the tower/other aircraft/hangars.

Re: Duxford Crash

At 1.40pm on Tuesday 26th March, emergency services were called to attend a crash involving a light aircraft at IWM Duxford. We are sad to report that the pilot, a man in his 50s from the Bedfordshire area, did not survive the crash. Despite the best efforts of medical crews, he was pronounced dead...

Re: Reds Hawks at Valley

Thanks - heard Red 6 leave Waddo 8am this morning and he's just back with Approach now.

Was this a jet swap or was there a pick up as well?

EDIT - can hear Vulcan 82 as well, so it was a pick up.

Specialist Photo Competition - Special Schemes

FC user F3 (Mick) has suggested another specialist competition, with the prize being a copy of his Church Fenton book for the winner. The rules are - 1. 1 entry per person, unless posting on behalf of another person who is unable to do so themselves (children for example). If this is the case, pleas...

Reds Hawks at Valley

Afternoon, Just wondering if anyone has a latest update about how many RAFAT jets are at Valley at the moment. The team are really struggling with serviceability at Waddo, only managing to put up two 9 ships early Feb so far. XX219 was seen flying yesterday without a smoke pod - did it end up at Val...

245.5 in use at the moment for Rampage working with Centurion.

Unsure if it's a new 3sqd A/a or a Centurion callsign.

Re: Reds Winter Training 22/23; & 2023-34

The WAVE probably won't be open when you arrive, if you're coming up the A15 turn in to the fire service training area and wait there until the WAVE opens. When the base fence appears on the left, you will see the air ambulance buildings first - it's the turning after that you want. Have a good day....

Photo Request - Waddington Gate Guard Victor XL189

Good morning! On the look out for a photo of Victor tanker XL189 when it was on the gate at Waddington, parked behind XM607 - don't suppose anyone has anything in their collections? No exact dates, but I believe it was on the gate for a few years in the late 80's before being scrapped, despite it's ...
