Re: Open Skies Treaty

Not a great thing for West-East relations.. Unfortunately Trump started it and Russia’s withdrawal was inevitable. That said, analysis of the US’s withdrawal suggested the treaty provided little value these days. Russia hasn't allowed the US to fly the OC-135B anywhere near Kalingrad for a while no...

What would it take to turn the old rae thurleigh in Bedford back to a base. Surely this would be big enough for Marshall's operations. I know at the moment it is used for car racing .
Thurleigh does actually get BizJet traffic for certain race days.

With the retirement of the sentinel at some point in next 5 years I think there would be plenty of room.
Its not about room at Waddington, when the Red Arrows practice it shuts down the base, this would have an impact on Waddington's flying schedule.

Evening All

Anyone heard the latest rumour about the new Red Arrows home, have heard it could be Waddington.
The disruption to the based assets at Waddington would surely be to much to consider that as a serious alternative to Scampton?

would it be to difficult to have a civilian volunteer system in place for RAFAT to carry out the less important jobs? I’m certain those jobs could be filled ten fold if such a system was introduced.

The S92 flies up from Qatar most summers to help move the Qatar Royal family around the UK/Europe, i assume they have recently purchased some land in Scotland?

it seems some of the money allocated to the RC135 facilities at Fairford has been reallocated to Trumps "wall" https://assets.documentcloud.org/documents/6382424/List-of-DOD-deferrals.pdf So apologies for being slow on the uptake, but is that a list of works that has been deferred or cancelled? Wyton (airfield) is closed and being developed for housing so that's off the list Wyton is certainly on the shortlist for Marshalls. He hasn’t been sacked, that’s the sensationalist journo’s take on it, for headline purposes. He has been relieved of command of HMS Elizabeth, he is still an officer in the Royal Navy. As above, nobody who has ever driven a service vehicle can be in any doubt about what the rules are... In fact, I ...

MV-22 & VH-60 were based at Northolt last visit, but currently closed for runways works , so who knows this time suspect Mildenhall Not closed to rotary traffic. But they normally arrive there in a C17 and the Mv22s last time had KC130J support. So that might mean they go somewhere else. Wes...
