Re: Viewing Guides

Does anyone know the current roadworks situation on the A417 (around Birdlip)? It was a nightmare last Summer. Sill on going. I think it's due to finish early 2027. There are rerouting the A417 and making it a duel carriageway. I'm not sure how bad the traffic is day to day around Birdlip but if yo...

Would've thought the Media Pass would come with joining instructions or similar with details of the access etc .
She getting the pass from the company that have asked her to attend and will be getting the pass in the next week or two.

RIAT Media Village

A friend of mine has a media pass this year and I've been asked if the media village still exists. I'm sure I saw it last year or was I seeing things? I seem to remember on the south side of the showground near the red entrance.

Re: Catering

Seacat has got it spot on. I take a battery cool box and even a battery kettle to the Park & View days at RIAT as I'm in one place for the day. There's no chance of carrying that all around on the full show days. But £4.50 for a tray of chips as Warthog56 has pointed out is in my opinion is well ove...

Re: FRIAT 2024

I haven't received my FRIAT passes yet. I just wanted to see if anyone else was still waiting and it's me being impatient or should I chase it?

Re: Blue Angels IMAX trailer

Went and watched it this morning and it was excellent. Not only did it cover the flying aspect with some excellent air to air filming, it also covered behind the scenes and the recruitment of new pilots for the following season. The air to air shots really shows how close they get. Thanks to Elderfo...

Just book my tickets for tomorrow morning at the IMAX at Cheltenham. I hope it's going to be worth the 60 mile round trip.

Re: Catering

Overpriced and poor quality. The catering is some of the worst outdoor event food I've come across when it comes to cost and quality. My local kebab van is better quality than the catering at RIAT. The cost of the food is one thing that makes really quiet angry. I wouldn't mind pay the high price's ...

Hope it's as good as the trailer is. Only thing is my nearest IMAX is 40 miles away.

Re: Countdown to Looking Glass

Wasn't The Day After the film that changed Ronald Reagan's view on the cold war? I came across this film about 14 years ago for the first time and I remember the end having a complete sense of no hope.

Thanks Andy_99 and XWP29.

Lots of reading to do. Just need to get out there and have a practice. My 18 week old baby boy is at risk of being the most photographed baby around.

Re: Any Advice For A Complete Beginner

Many thanks Archer for the advice. I will have to look out for these videos. One of the first things I did was read the instructions. There was lots to take in and I do keep going back to them. The most surprising thing I have found is how little adjustments to the shutter speed can increase the bri...

Any Advice For A Complete Beginner

I've recently decided to give the photography side of this hobby ago. So I thought I would get a fairly cheap body and lens just to get started. I've gone and got myself a Sony A450 along with a Sigma 70-300mm lens and a 18-70mm Sony lens. I've been practicing round the house taking photos of random...

Re: RAF Fairford construction - complete

Work on the Munitions handling area should begin next year. Money has also been allocated to the deployable air base system which will be built over the old bomb dump. The Rapid Airfield damage repair facility is due to begin in 2026 for completion in 2027. At the risk of sounding stupid what is a ...
