Flares from the caravan

Anyone know the reasoning, why the guy from the caravan, besides the runway was shooting flares. I presume it was to gauge the wind? These weren't the usual bird scaring flares.

Possible freq for the Hawk T2 role demo. 255.9750 was on holiday near RAF Valley last week and saw them practicing. Heard them on this freq which is the Valley Ninja stud. But worth putting in scanners just in case.

Thank you all for the serials for today's visitors. It was the cougars that I couldn't identify. I knew you guys would know.

Anything else due in this week? Maybe some visitors on their way to RIAT?

Thanks once again :thumb:

Valley Visitors 8th July 2014

Good afternoon.

Great day at Valley today.

5x tucanos
2 flybys by typhoon
And two helicopter visitors. Does anyone have an I.D on these helicopters. Grayish looking. Didn't catch the call sign and I can't identify them? Call sign and type?

Many thanks
