Re: RAF Typhoon Fleet

It was on this SBS report dated 10/09, seems to still be with 3 sqn if the serial showing on SBS is correct :- viewtopic.php?f=54&t=194705&p=1223615&h ... 4#p1223615

Scroll down as the serial is highlighted.

Re: Lossiemouth 1977-79

Well spotted! They are indeed 23TFW A-7s. I was there on 06/10/77 and all 10 23 TFW A-7s were parked next to the tower and the tops of 3(?) of their tails can be seen behind the OV-10, the 6 x UH F1-11Es were parked were VASS is now and the 12 x 12 & 208 sqn Buccs from Honington were parked over on...

Re: Mr Grumpy whinge

That drives my nuts as well and it happens everywhere you look, what about plurals of aircraft names that end with a number - should it be F-15s or F-15's? I'd go for the former.

Love the photos chaps. :thumb:

I remember when the 2 AV F-16 pilots came to Kempsford camp site on the Sunday morning during the great RIAT wash-out of 2008, they were selling 555 FS merchandise and I thought it was a rather nice thing to do by them. It wasn't cheap though!

Re: Mr Grumpy whinge

It seems that a lot of people in the East Midlands, Lincolnshire & Norfolk areas say "as" instead of "has", I've noticed it on here and some Facebook groups too.

Re: Visitors Tuesday Sept 10th

Bluetail all, I saw Typhoon FGR4 (ZK328) on the pan at RAF Coningsby yesterday. Any idea how long it's there for or what it's doing? Baz. You saw it at Coningsby because it was ferried there on 10/09/19 (as above). ZK311 was delivered from Coningsby on that day and the pilot would have taken '328 b...

Are you refering to this episode - https://www.key.aero/article/u-2-makes- ... cy-landing
No, as that was last month and it's serial was correct - the thread is about a U-2 with a spurious serial that was seen at Mildenhall in 1975.
