Re: B52 Ops 17-9-20

I only know basics about mission planning, aircraft maintenance and turn around (and little about the effect Covid is having on this deployment) but with 6 airframes here I imagined there would be more flying with more aircraft. I believe it was stated this would be a very active deployment compared...

Re: Notam 11 08 2020

Been on headphones (presumably when it launched) but something whiney just buzzed over my house low and slow in Fairford east to west (didn't sound Brize related) so could be the other frame up on training flight.

Re: ACC F-15E Strike Eagle Demo team

No but there is an epic (dont usually use that word lightly) video on youtube of an LN F-15E doing a demo in the wet at MAKS a few years back. Truly stunning display: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2tuj4LWEPw

Theres also a 'dry' display from the same guy which is also very good.

Turn it up!

I've heard issues ranging from an oil leak (out of oil on landing) to a frozen MFD. Do we know what actually happened? Cheers.

Re: Works at RAF Fairford

There were recently civil service jobs DIO posts (I work in the civil service) out for infrastructure and contractor management working with US forces at RAF Fairford. Primarily I believe for the new works. This post has now closed and interviews have been held so it's not just physical activity bui...

I don't think it's a Ford Orion, looks more like a Triumph Acclaim/Honda Accord sort of thing??

Apologies to pg1610 for hijacking his thread, for some reason I thought it was a Themed Photo Thread.
Saab 9000 i think.

Re: Red Arrows & Patrouille de France - 18th June

A friend at Newbury said both teams circled the town 3 times, which was mostly cloud free by then, getting into formation prior to the run in to London. Looked good apparently. More to the west where i was positioned en route (near Faringdon) was wet and very low cloud - i think they bypassed this p...
