Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2019 Discussion Thread

"..alarming"!? I dont think the number of aircraft confirmed/not confirmed for an airshow can really be described as alarming? Alarming would be if there was a nuke on the way from Russia, i got home to find my house had been burgled, there were no biscuits left in the tin etc ;) On another note i h...

Hi Stroudy!

Just discovered Tamiya Enamel Panel Line Accent Black! It's good stuff!
Thanks, will check it out. Your F-14 really does look very good. Great airframe! Might be my next build, eventually (taken me 10 years to do the F6 Lightning!).

Very nice, and thanks for posting. Proper air power. Goes to show low-viz doesn't always work!

Re: Tamiya 1/48 F14D!

Really simply, how do you get the weathered effect in the panel lines? Is it some sort of pre-wash or even pencilled in after?

Thanks, have always wanted to know the simplest method to achieve this and it will help with my current 1:48 F-6 Lightning build.

Tornados!! My favourite!! Hurrah!!
too bad they are static though :(
They are not allowed to do dynamic display. Only at ILA and some local open base days.
Do you know the reason they are not allowed to do a dynamic display?

This one's a warning to Putin so I've heard from involved personnel. Aren't they all though I suppose, although still get the feeling this one is something bigger than usual, but is it a different type of deployment? Only time will tell...

Re: Giant 8692 Friday.

Just to clarify you saw a US registered flatbed lorry and US police? When ammunition was moved from Welford to Fairford in the Balkan crisis it was British registered articulated container lorries with British police escorts. Would have thought it strange to have US police on British roads in this c...

Re: A few from the forgotten F3 Fin

Not forgotten on me. The F3 may have been an underdog in the fighter dept dynamically, but who doesn't love an underdog, or one that performed an airshow routine like it did. Always remember it finishing some of its RIAT displays with a very high speed pass followed by a vertical climb into the heav...

On BBC website earlier it was saying that IAF jets flew 3-4 miles inside the Line of Control presumably to undertake a raid, got jumped by PAF jets, jettisoned their loads over open ground, and Foxtrot Oscar'd. Who knows what actually happened..
