Re: Culling

So there is absolutely no evidence that a cull has taken place, the birds may have just moved on. Sorry, I don't think so, these birds enjoy the continual supply of treats - particularly chips from the visitors and holiday makers. I am advised that they were cleared out previously, about five years...

Re: Culling

Our nearby seaside resort of Hunstanton had hundreds of wild duck, a mixture of Mallard and a number of cross breeds and perhaps private escapees. Sadly, all of a sudden they have all disappeared. Also present were many more gulls, Black Headed/Herring/Common and Lesser Black Headed. These, a few d...

Re: Tesco phone/switchboard

Thank you all for your helpful advice. Returned to Tesco yesterday afternoon to find that phone dept. was manned by only two staff who were on break until 15.00. Got hold of PAC transfer code which wouldn't work. So, went into Kings Lynn "3" mobile shop to get it sorted. Still wouldn't work. Called ...

Tesco phone/switchboard

Yesterday I made a phone purchase at my local Tesco Extra. Problem with the equipment, and needed to call Tesco to discuss. So today, mid afternoon on a Saturday, I went into Google to be given an 0345 telephone number. Spent some 10+ mike listening to all the options and on locating phone departmen...

Re: Nicola Sturgeon?

Is Mrs. Krankie on every day in England? She's on BBC1 at 12.30 every bloomin' day Mon-Fri up here and I was seriously thinking of moving back South to escape her. :grr: Yes, she's on BBC news all day free view CH231, complete with a hand waver in background. We continue to wonder about her hairdre...

Re: Facilities at Coningsby

Think the village loo's have been closed some time, they were never the cleanest either. Not been since start of covid, but always found the public toilets in the main car park to be spotless - 17 years of usage. My only comment might be, I'm 6ft 5in and if I want to use the facilities, my shoulder...

Nuisance Calls

Over recent months the number of calls had fallen to zero. Now, as perhaps we move forward, I have noted an increase in the number of calls - matey from Mumbai, prerecorded from Amazon and BT, local double glazing who can't comprehend that our windows are of German make and remain perfect. Neverthel...

Re: Coningsby opening time week commencing 22nd June 2020.

As Mike said, Wednesday will be a great weather day - what is forecast as likely to be 27/28C in powerful bright sunshine.

Being an airfield there is no shade anywhere, so you will need perhaps umbrellas to protect the young enthusiasts.

Enjoy your day.

Don't forget that 08.30 is Zulu/GMT, and from your view is 09.30 BST.

Flying times are not normally promulgated, but, if you monitor what happens on Monday and Tuesday you may get a feel for what to expect.

Spoke with neighbours, on who's land this was, they had half a pigeon on their lawn. So, like your partners, it looks like mine was also a pigeon.

Sparrowhawk

With upstairs window slightly ajar, hoping to find a little breeze on a humid night, I noted at around 05.30 that the morning birdsong had stopped and had been replaced by gull and magpie alarm/warning calls. Whilst the gulls stayed in the visual circuit, the magpies (always pairs) were on the groun...

Stephen Fry, especially if you come up behind him at the checkout in your local Waitrose.

How can it take so long to empty and refill a shopping trolley? Now where is my purse.

Thanks Paddy, Couldn't find a suitable zoo anywhere nearby, although a zoo in the midlands gives it away, but have found that I can have a bag of Lion jollop delivered by your former colleagues for +/- £10. The butcher that sells Muntjac is half way up/down high street in Wells next the sea - if sti...
