Re: 1975 First months
Wonderful stuff! Your postings gladden my heart - I get so bored of seeing the same photo's of grey aircraft of limited types. Your selections are always a breath of fresh air so thank you so much for posting these memories.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 General Discussion Thread
As someone whose mobility is slowly deteriorating I have been keen to reserve a mobility scooter for the event. I'm pleased to say that Event Mobility have finally received confirmation of paperwork from RIAT and bookings can now be made. Luckily, I've managed to reserve one for both Friday and Satu...

Re: Complete list of RAF Battle of Britain At Home Programmes 19 September 1964
Thank you so much for sharing these. sadly, I missed the heyday of the RAF "at Home " shows, my first being the 1968 Finningley event. My interest in military aircraft began a few years earlier when my brother took me to the old RAFA displays held at Rolls Royces' Hucknall airfield. These lists show...

Yikes! Memories of a time when we had a proper air force. All very nice images - if only they came with sound...........!

Brilliant set of images! The camo' schemes on the Herc's and Argosy's pre-dated my owning a camera so are especially nice memory "jerkers" from the BoB shows of the late 60's and early 70's. Such a joy to see photographs that are not all grey fighters! Thanks for posting.

A fabulous selection of all French military. Most of them were of French design and construction too - the days when Britain and France reigned supreme in design and manufacture of aircraft. Thanks for these.

Re: Silver Jubilee Review of the RAF 1977.(Photo Heavy.)
It was a cracking day! The weather played ball and the only flypast that beats this one was the Battle of Britain %0th anniversary one at Abingdon in 1990. Oh how I miss the annual pilgrimage to Finningley for the BoB shows - should have been this weekend. Now, we don't commemorate it. So sad.

Re: RAF Waddington - view or no view?
Sorry to be critical but the parking area provided is STILL an aircraft viewing area - aircraft FLY and will cross the A15 before landing or after take off. It is unfair to say that it is not an aircraft viewing area. The airfield is a working military establishment and NOT a place of entertainment ...

Still catching my breath back after these! I'd exhaust all the superlatives to describe what a fantastic set of images you've given us - I can feel the heat, not just from the beach but also the "burners"! If only my body could stand the heat I'd definitely go to this show. Many thanks for posting.

I agree with all the accolades re this post Arnold! A truly brilliant selection of American hardware that was active across Europe in the early 70's. Not a F15 or F16 in view! Great venue too - noted in the background was the wonderful VW Beetle and a Pan Am 747 as well. Thank you for posting.

A more than fitting selection to replace Flying Legends at Duxford. As I've said before, I would attend if public transport links were in place.

Happy days - manual cameras and lenses, deciding what shots to take because you never brought enough film with you, few hospitality tents along the crowd line, etc. But the photo-bus to the flight lines on the far side was good! Biggest downside was taking photo's of the flying display for us "plebs...

Re: USA East Coast - New Jersey
I often wonder why old aircraft such as the Caribou's shown here are allowed to jus rot away. Is there still a demand for spares? I've seen aluminium (English spelling!) that has started to rot so surely to recycle the airframes whilst still "healthy" would be worthwhile? So sad to see.................

Mustang 51 summed up the thoughts of many viewers of this post. "Stars" ruled supreme in those days and what a great selection here. But look at that weather! Can even see the rain bouncing off the ground in one of the Phantom shots! We were "mad" in our youth but, thankfully, record shots such as t...

Very nice Rob - just wish that I could achieve such sharp images. Sadly, as the camera/lens technology has improved over the last 50 years my pictures of flying aircraft have gotten worse!
